  2. What happened with Monique Reid at Fern Creek? This was her first year coaching, right?

  5. Congrats to Butler! I was really surprised when Lawrence was not named a finalist for Miss Basketball.Whenever I saw her play always thought she was a really good player. I'm sure being MVP of the state tournament helps her get over the omission for miss bball
  6. Boley is a really good player for Etown and their post player is very active and aggressive. Butler is fast, deep, and aggressive, I think they will give Etown a close game. Anderson was depending on the three too much and when they drove they tried to drive on much bigger players. Think Mckee never got her rhythm after 3 early fouls and Cann's shot was not falling last night. But congrats on representing the 8th region well. Quite an accomplishment to make state to the round of eight
  7. Yes. Girls' candidates are Ivy Brown of LaRue County, MacKenzie Cann and Eriel McKee of Anderson County, Nicole Kiernan of Newport Central Catholic, Javonna Layfield of Ballard, Kayla Rankin of Perry County Central and Daijia Ruffin of Sacred Heart.
  8. Courier journal does not pick the POY for the 6th and 7th region. They only report the results of the coaches vote. The KABC POY's are seniors only, so sometimes the KABC pick is really not the best player as the best player might be someone not a senior.
  9. Way to go South!! Close game with lots of fouls called both ways. I think 2 fouled out for South and one for Trimble. PSN did a good job announcing the game!!
  10. I thought Danielle Lawrence from Butler would be a finalist
  11. Larue county's Ivy Brown, Anderson County’s MacKenzie Cann and Eriel McKee, Newport Central Catholic’s Nicole Kiernan, Perry County Central’s Kayla Rankin, Ballard’s Javonna Layfield and Sacred Heart’s Daijia Ruffin. Good group!
  12. Thanks for the update on the 29th district. I have not been to any games this season but still cheering from home!
  13. 1. Alabama 2. Florida State 3. Alabama's 2nd string 4. Ohio State 5. Stanford
  14. Wow! Didn't know that some players played only AAU and not high school. But yes, it would be hard for coaches to recruit during the high school season when the college basketball season is going on at the same time.
  15. Two back to back championships... And he's overrated? Seriously? As an Alabama Alum, I say to you, Roll Tide!!!!!!!!!
  16. There is a thread about it under college sports/basketball
  17. Nice article in the Courier Journal the other day about some players getting a lot of national attention! http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20130803/SPORTS11/308030004/1078/sports/Recruiting-Notebook-Future-taking-shape-Kentucky-Premier-girls-basketball-players
  18. SM is swingman... A player capable of playing either shooting guard or small forward. I am assuming that WF means they play wing or forward.
  19. Wow! Don't understand that at all. Actually i didn't believe my daughter when she told me. Division III? But in the end, its not for me to understand and she owes no one outside of her family any explanation. She is a great bball player and seems like a really nice young lady! I wish her well and hope that she has a great year!
  20. The roster was in the courier journal. If I had to guess, being that this was an AAU evaluation weekend, several players decided not to play( same reason my daughter didn't play when she was a rising senior). Too many other big tournaments were being played. So other girls were asked to play after the initial roster was released. If I had to guess. Wish they would move that game so all the top talent can play.
