Anybody know when the regional players of the year will be announced? Or if they have been announced where can I see a list of them?

The player of the year, I believe, is announced at the banquet, which is after the state tournament.

 

I'm not sure which region you are looking for, but I know that is the case for at least the 8th and the 9th.

Here are the ones I know...

 

5th- Ivy Brown

6th- Danielle Lawrence

8th- Makenzie Cann

Which Player of Year award? The 8th region coaches' association chooses a POY and a COY; the Courier-Journal also awards POY and COY for the 6th and 7th regions. Others need to chime regarding other regions, though. But the only awards that are officially recognized at the Sweet 16 normally occur on Friday afternoon at Diddle, and this is conducted by the KABC. Ironically, this situation allows for their to be different/multiple POY and COY recipients within the same region in the same year. Go figure.

Courier journal does not pick the POY for the 6th and 7th region. They only report the results of the coaches vote. The KABC POY's are seniors only, so sometimes the KABC pick is really not the best player as the best player might be someone not a senior.

True, the C-J does not "pick" the recipient, but it is its award, as the poll is conducted by the C-J.
