With home field.....slight advantage goes to Trinity this year....But should be a close game. They will need their young guns to really step up.

Campbell County by a missed extra point....21-20. Ugly game all-around.

Highlands, but look for Withrow to hang in there in the first half. Second half, HHS pulls away.

McCoy needs work too. You never know....Would have been interesting to see him work behind the first line. Do not think he had that opportunity. Gall had a very nice game.

Beechwood played hard. Birds, varsity, were just too much for them. Good to see HHS work on their intermediate passing game in the first half. Going to need it later...

29-0 highlands with a minute left in the first quarter. No let down for highlands. thHS has come out throwing the ball. Scored on a bad snap and stripped the ball and ran it back for another score.

Last I heard...At half time from a friend of the family...Was dislocated ankle. Unsure if it was fractured. Best of luck to him for a speedy recovery.

Birds had their way tonight. Great performance!! What a fun group to watch!

Agreed. My point exactly. That is what I said (see my previous posts). Go Birds! Beat Camels!

I have it right. You best check the rosters. I coached. I know. Hayes, you are correct...But none thought he had a future....Guess again!

Won't be pretty. Highlands by as much as they want.

Seems to me that Houliston, Hayes, Allen, Hope, True, Wrobleski (only played a year, maybe 2, for Red Devils), Plau, Kruse, Buten, Shadle, Ayers, Cochran, Little, Kramer, Green, Brocket all played in the FTJFL....The list goes on my friend. Seems to me they all contributed big to the win on Saturday night. Not sure why we need to go there....They are ALL Bluebirds now. Let's focus on this team, v. teams of 5, 6, 7 and 8 graders. Going to be a fun group to watch going forward! Next up: Beat Camels!!

Any updates on this?

--Interesting, I did not see a week link. Playing St. X, are you kidding me? Those kids played their hearts out, on offense, and DEFENSE! Particularly in the second half. Mised some open field tackles, but first game, under the lights, against St X....I will take it!!

I second that!! What a fantastic atmosphere DCM tonight! Saw a lot of the varsity players there as well, supporting the frosh. St X parents were very supportive and from what I saw/heard very classy as well. A well played game by both teams. The Birds looked really strong, particularly, once they settled down. Looked a little star struck to start the game. Should be a fun group to watch for the next 4 years.

Great game by both teams. Thought the Bruns boys for Highlands had a great game on the defensive side of the ball. Big turnovers, big hits. Nice game by both. Looking forward to game 2!!

Guess they, the Tiger announcers, have to have something to talk about. Should be a quality Freshman game. Lot's of playmakers on both sides of the ball for the Birds. This class has a ton of potential. Looking forward to watching them for the next 4 years.....starting tomorrow. Can't wait!! Go Birds!!
