I know that there is not much of a following on BGP for soccer, but there is a big girls soccer triple header on Saturday between Highlands and Notre Dame at Notre Dame. Ladybirds coming off a big win last night versus Lexington Catholic who defeated Notre Dame last weekend. Add in the fact that two former Birds are now members of the Panda soccer team. Should be a great game between two very good teams. Any thoughts on the outcome of this game?

Two former Birds now Pandas? How can this be, did they play Varsity for the Birds? Now Highlands knows how other schools feel when they take players from other schools.

Maybe JOAT should have said 2 - Fort Thomas girls that attended HHS/HMS 3 years ago are starters for the Panda varsity team. Still makes for an interesting match-up. Notre Dame is a deep, talented team, while HHS relies on Grause to make things happen. Should be a good one. If either team is able to score more than twice I will be very surprised.

It will be nice for NDA to finally have a true home game against Highlands!

 

Not sure but isn't the outstanding NDA freshmen keeper from last year team out until sometime in late September?

This should be a great game this afternoon. Anytime you match these two programs up the level of play rises to the top as they wear their hearts on their sleeves. I can see this being a very physical game to say the least. Go Birds.

ND won 2-0

ND flat out took control of this game from the start and never looked back. I for one did not see the same Highlands team show up today that I saw against LexCath. ND beat HHS to every ball every time. Bottom line is ND wanted this game more than the Birds and the score at the end showed. A very nice crowd for a Soccer game. Great new facility at ND, perhaps Highlands can start moving in the same direction with a new surface at their facility.

Great game for the Pandas! They were fired up for this game and had the game plan in place to take the win. Not sure they had control throughout though. There were a few times that the Lady Birds were able to put some offensive pressure on, Grause hit the crossbar with a screamer in the 2nd half. But overall the Pandas simply had too many skilled players on the field for Highlands to match up with. Both ex Birds played very well!

Voskuhl should be back in action in 3-4 more weeks. The Pandas were also missing Abdelgheny for this one and for the next few.

 

The NDA JV and Freshmen also won today, 1-0 and 3-0 respectively!

Yes, it is. But for those who may not know, it is school owned property now. It was deeded over yrs ago. Has the making of a great facility, of course the parking is an issue. LOL.
