If he gets his coaches in the building, it would be a great accomplishment. Pay for the assistants is very good compared to surrounding counties I believe, the more years experience the better the pay. Generally assistants are paid an 8% to 12% stipend based on 1st year teacher and steps for years of experience (para pros), I believe a teacher/assistant coach in the building has to make a minimum of 10% based on their teacher pay.

Doubtful he will be able to bring someone with him, as Oldham hires for teachers first and coaches... Let's just say this, I don't believe any HS in Oldham county has assistant coaches in the building. All paraprofessionals...

Hell bird, why don't you go take a chill pill. How about good game south Oldham on coming down and playing a well fought game. Officials were biased you are correct, but against the visitors. On one of coopers td's, the RB was moving before the snap. How many penalties did cooper have compared to south Oldham. Out gained by over a 100 yards and should have win? South showed up at 6:50 for a 7:30 game. Please be humble and give people their due credit.

I hear the HC is a real grinder. His defensive coordinators have been second rate at best and somehow they still find ways to win. Will be interesting to see how they fair without Sherry.

How do the coaching staffs matchup? Each team has seen pretty good results the last few year. Borchers at Cooper gets a lot of cred, but you hardly hear of the guys at the other schools. What are their credentials?

South Oldham sure made it interesting this year. Picked to finish 3rd, and ended up as the State recognized District Champs?

It's always good for the kids and coaches to experience games at nice venues, out of state, etc. Most kids won't play big-time football after HS, and many HS coaches never get the opportunity to coach at a level higher than HS. I think its a win-win for all parties when these games happen. JMO

In the State of Georgia, week 10 is really a playoff/play-in between a few districts that have so many teams, that they can't play each other during the regular season. We should consider it here as well. Every team schedules a 9 game season, let the 1st round games take place week 10;1 vs 4, 2 vs 3, teams that don't make the top 4 gets paired up with similiar team, or finishes their season with 9 games if they choose. Week 11 would be the official start of the playoffs, then everyone can stop belly-aching about travel and blow out games...
