I'm asking because I really don't know the answer.

 

It's a shame that officials can blow games and nothing can be done to right the wrong. 2 of the past 3 games for instance Td's have been taken away from Cooper at the end of games which cost them possible wins, and both games were district games which makes it even worse.

 

The first blown call was reported and the officials after a meeting that week apparently admitted to their mistake, yet what good does that do? It doesn't change the outcome of the game after the fact. Another horrible call made last night which anyone who knows anything about football knows the rule, yet the ones being paid to enforce the rules blew it again which cost Cooper another TD and possible win at the end of the game.

 

So I am curious to what exactly can be done besides getting a meaningless written apology to the team?

 

Can these refs be suspended for poor performance? Can coaches ban them from working any of their games in the future? I don't know so I ask everyone on here if they know what can be done.

I don't know what the normal protocol is, but I do know that a crew was suspended for blowing a call several years ago that possible changed the outcome in a Raceland game. Raceland was kicking an extra point to tie the ball game on the last play, a player from the other team ran and jumped off a down DL and blocked the kick. Obviously, a player can not jump off another player, and it was very apparent what happened unless the player had a 72" vertical leap.

 

A complaint was made, the crew was suspended for one week. No change in the outcome of the game though.

Nothing. Humans aren't computers and we don't have replay, always gonna be error.

Hell bird, why don't you go take a chill pill. How about good game south Oldham on coming down and playing a well fought game. Officials were biased you are correct, but against the visitors. On one of coopers td's, the RB was moving before the snap. How many penalties did cooper have compared to south Oldham. Out gained by over a 100 yards and should have win? South showed up at 6:50 for a 7:30 game. Please be humble and give people their due credit.

I know it is frustrating when anyone thinks an official makes a mistake and maybe they did in these. It is part of the game and always will be with no replay in the near future in high school. I think all of us have felt this way about a way our team lost over a period of time. I really do believe these things even out over the long haul and that may even expand beyond a season. In reality, this is adversity all teams have to overcome. When it happens at the end of a close game it just frustrates the losing team more. I believe over time that all teams get a favorable call, also. It is a part of any sport that has officiating. I also believe the officials are not out to get a team, just the breaks some times. Last night Ellis was really safe at home with a phantom tag that was called an out which would have led to a Dodger victory instead of a loss. Frustrating yes, but it happens to all teams somewhere along the way. I am not condoning it, but it is reality in sports. I don't know about consequences in high school, but I am sure officials or coaches on here may know.

Officials are rated by the coaches, and that in turn effects which/what games they get. Not really a system with lots of teeth, but has some teeth nonetheless. Also, schools get a certain number of "scratches" (officials who can't call their games). I'd imagine that in cases of egregious violations/behavior, reporting the officials and sending a game tape to the KHSAA can get something done.

As far as officiating lopsided to benefit Cooper, haha ok.

 

As far as S Oldham showing up at 6:50, maybe they should leave earlier, not sure what that has to do with anything.

Curious where South Oldham came "down" from - is that why they were tardy?? They overshot NKy and wandered into Uh-hi-uh then had to double back or ????
