Believe Pike is 3rd qb on Rivals and 5th on Scout. If Pike doesn't have to run for his life every play and has time that a Division 1 offensive line with top caliber receivers he's easily a qb. Mark my word when he tears up the SEC. Bir did a nice job but I'd take Pike any day. Kids a flat gamer.

Clyde, I've been up at Dixie for years now and know many faculty there. He wasn't attending school enough, hardly at all, to earn the credits to play. And, this is no shot personaly at Desean Peterson himself. Unless he, or anyone else in his situation was able to go through a summer school program, or get the credits online, it would be impossible for an athelete to play. As I said before, he was enrolled at Dixie, but wasn't attending school. This kid can play, and I really hope he makes the best he can out of this chance. We at Dixie just don't understand. The kid was enrolled at Dixie for 31 days. He was abscent 23 of those, and of the 8 he was there he left class and had someone pick him up, without telling any faculty, during school hours. HMMMMMMMMM!

Wrong about Cohorn IMO. Same as Burchell from Covcath, humble and well mannered off the field, and definately a stud on the field. Bottom line with Dixie is too many kids playing on both sides of the ball majority of the games. So naturally by the time the halfway point of the third and all the fourth qtr. comes they're worn down. Especially the O and D lines. That's all on the Dixie coaching. I don't care how good the conditioning is, if you play almost every down, both sides of the ball, and a few of them on special teams also, not only are you physically done, but also mentally whipped.So that all falls back on the coaches at Dixie.QUOTE=scout;4132196]Pike was Pike tonight. Correct, Dixie can't do it all by himself, but he, Cohorn, and Bruns will produce and make the CCH defense work. This game is not going to be a walkover for CCH IMO. Cohorn and Bruns are in top shape. Many kids can't handle playing a whole game both ways, them two can. Cohorn was making many of the defensive plays asgainst NCC on the first two series including the fumble recovery near the goal line. Then they stayed away from that side of the defense pretty much the rest of the night. Don't get me wrong here, Bruns was at safety making many tackles. If your safety has to do that much work, you're defense is going to have a long night on the field. Dixie's defense, as a team has to play much, much better this week. I wouldn't be surprised to see Pike in on defense this week, Dixie has to start getting pressure on the QB and getting into the backfield.

I think Pike makes a HUGE difference and youll see that in weeks to come. Cohorn did a great job but some recievers just missed balls and two happened to be tipped for interceptions, one for a touch down. Cohorn at WR and Pike at Qb and the game changes. Pike gets 4yds a carry falling down and Cohorn catches half of his passes. NCC Pass D gave up some easy balls that were just dropped. Not to mention Hatton will be suited up and ready to be the number 2 WR. NCC played awesome and whipped Dixie but i think with Pike in the game Dixie responds differently. I was very impressed with Pikes maturity as he was picking his teammates up throughout the game, even at the end when it became frustrating for Dixie. Cohorn did the best he could, but NCC was far more physical and mentally tough.

I was told he was at the field this past weekend with Zeke and Goose getting the system down and running routes. I seen him and Goose talking after practice and it looked like Goose was going over some things with him, then them three walked off together. I heard the rumor Friday night at the game that he was going to play. Left work early today to stop up and see for myself. It's true, he's out there with them. I believe there's a state rule about having to put so many practices in before a kid can play. Anybody?

Just got word today thay Tyler Moore has ben cleared to play, so Dixie will have him back at reciever and corner. From whay I saw last friday out of Cohorn passing the ball, I give the edge to Dixie. And that was with losing Moore in the 1st qtr. I was up at Dixie today watching practice and I believe I was watching a very good basketball ploayer for Dixie on the field running routs and catching balls. And yes, its been a couple years since he's played, but he looked good. I had no idea who it was until I seen him walking off the field after practice with Pike and Cohorn with his helmet off. Would anyone like to take a guess?

Surprised not to see Goose Cohorn on that list. Especially with much of the college looks he's getting. IMO.

The info I'm getting is that he's been in contact with many D1 schools and D2 and 3 schools. From what I'm hearing from coaches and family Purdue, Morehead, Murray St., EKU, and many of the Mac schools. I heard him and Handlon were at Hanover not too long ago. I hear his GPA is pretty high so if that's the case the door could be pretty open for him.

Brady Hitchew cant win this game by himself. NCC will need more than just Hightchew to step up in this one. Dixie will have everyone back but Pike at QB and Moore at corner. Cohorn ran the offense really well against McNick, and will have Justice and Bruns back in the backfield as well. Does it hurt some what by not having Pike at Qb? Of course, because now they lose their top reciever by moving Cohorb to QB, and you lose the dual threat of Pike at QB. Dixie does have other recievers that are pretty good, as shown in the scrimmage last night. And Dixie will have Justice back at linebacker and Bruns at safety. Both teams are going to run the ball alot, but this game might come down to the Qb's. Cohorn ran the ball extremely well last night when he pulled it down, he's tough to bring down. And we all know what Hightchew can do when he runs the ball. This will be a good game to watch, I give Dixie the edge with the depth in the running game.

I dont think Pat Towels was an elite 11 finalist, so we can wrap up that comparison.

I'm actually just an old Dixie alumnist that hangs out in the press box. I talk to many Dixie parents and coaches. Been involved with the school for over 35 years now. But I do think the Cohorn kid is a really good football player. I would like to be in his dad's shoes. Nice kid to boot.

Sounds like a good scrimage

Pike did not play but 4 series for Dixie tonight. Goose Cohorn was at QB tonight the rest of the night. This kid is a stud athlete. One touchdown recieving and at least 10 receptions for alot of yards. Not much of a surprise there, but what he did at QB running the offense was really impressive. Only 2 incompletions on maybe 18 attempts and a touchdown. And not afraid to pull it and run with it either. He looks ready to go next week against NCC. Bruns and Justice did not play tonight for Dixie. #4 at running back for Dixie ran well. Very fast and elusive. The defense led by Cohorn, Handlon, and Malony is very solid. Dixie was missing a few starters on each side of the ball tonight, including the offense and defense lines. There were college coaches there from two different schools talking to Cohorn after the game. Didn't get the names.

The first episode of the elite 11 will air on ESPN at 7 pm tonight.

I would put Dixie at 2 and Ryle at 3. Dixie has alot more experience returning on defense this year. And they look extremely fast to the ball.
