No updates? Sounds like it must be a bad night for Dixie?

Wishful thinking.

Keep it nice everyone.

Pike did not play but 4 series for Dixie tonight. Goose Cohorn was at QB tonight the rest of the night. This kid is a stud athlete. One touchdown recieving and at least 10 receptions for alot of yards. Not much of a surprise there, but what he did at QB running the offense was really impressive. Only 2 incompletions on maybe 18 attempts and a touchdown. And not afraid to pull it and run with it either. He looks ready to go next week against NCC. Bruns and Justice did not play tonight for Dixie. #4 at running back for Dixie ran well. Very fast and elusive. The defense led by Cohorn, Handlon, and Malony is very solid. Dixie was missing a few starters on each side of the ball tonight, including the offense and defense lines. There were college coaches there from two different schools talking to Cohorn after the game. Didn't get the names.

Why in the world would you sit out that many kids? I dont get it :idunno::confused:

I'm actually just an old Dixie alumnist that hangs out in the press box. I talk to many Dixie parents and coaches. Been involved with the school for over 35 years now. But I do think the Cohorn kid is a really good football player. I would like to be in his dad's shoes. Nice kid to boot.

So, how did the score turn out?

Score ended up 21 - 7 McNich. Dixie had a lot of kids that were sitting out due to nagging injuries. I think we counted 26 kids in shorts. The top 4 backs did not play and then Tyler Moore who was playing RB went down after about the 4th play. Heard them say a slight concussion. Dixie will have to play a lot better if they want to win against NCC. There were a lot of young kids on both sides of the ball for Dixie that will have to step up. Cohorn did look comfortable playing QB but it is hard to take out your #1 receiver and then not have 4 of your starting 11 on offense and expect to do much. Dixie is just not that deep to be able to afford to lose that many players. Dixie starting D looked ok and the score was 7 - 7 with the starters but McNich scored a couple scores against some subs. McNich could have been playing subs as well it was hard to tell as they were in their practice jerseys. Also it looked like Pike was not allowed to run the ball at all as Dixie had several 3rd and 4th and short and Pike did not run. Anyone who has seen the kid play knows that he runs the ball a lot and he did not have one run all night.

I think they said the coach that was there was from Denison and he was talking to a kid from McNicholas I think he was number 7 and 2 kids from Dixie, Cohorn and Handlon.

Don't know who they were either other than they were not division 1 schools.
