So you're saying Vocke shut him Down? I give props to Vocke. He has alot of talent. In my opinion, Cohorn is alot better reciever than Vocke is at CB. Same when Vocke is on offense, he's hard to contain. I think Cohorn is hard to contain at his position also. Vocke's stats speak for themself, and so do Cohorn's. Their both close to the top in yardage at their offensive positions.

Just found out Justice is gone for the year. ACL or MCL tear this past Friday night. Also Withrow on the line tore his bicep muscle. Bruns probably be back for the Simon game. Pike will be fine. He sprained an ankle and took a helmet to the back. Not having Justice really hurts Dixie on both sides of the ball. That kid was really playing well the past two games before he got injured in the Beechwood game Friday night.Good luck to Colin and we wish him well.

I also seen Vocke getting smoked by Cohorn when Vocke was lined up man on him. No contest there. Cohorn was way to strong off the line to get seperation on him. Cohorn might not be as fast as Vocke, but he had his way with him. I give Vocke credit, he's one heck of a back on offense, but Cohorn had his way with him.

Whatever. We all know that their mom went to Highlands and that's why they transfered there. Even when they were still living in Independence. Please, let it go. This is not a bash Zeke Pike thread. We've heard enough.

If I was Beechwood I would be also concentrating a bit on Justice. He gets the majority of his yards between the tackles. And I wouldn't take the recieving core of Cohorn, Pitzer, and Hatton too lightly either. Pike doesn't need much time to get off his passes of late. Can Beechwood's secondary match up with Dixie's recievers? Can Beechwood get enough pressure on Pike, or stop Justice? Can Dixie's defense contain Vocke? Dixie's O ad D lines have been doing a pretty good job these last 2 games. Dixie's defense has gotten alot better, as has the O and D lines since they have only 4 players playing both ways.

Pike should have plenty of help with Pitzer, Hatton, and Cohorn, (if healthy). If Justice runs the ball like he did against Conner, the passing game should be fine. As I said in a earlier post, the team that plays the best on the defense side of the ball should get the win.

This will be a good test for both teams. Not only being a district game, but a test to see if Boone's defense can stop Dixie's offense. Dixie's defense stepped it up their last game. Can Dixie contain Boone's running game?

Sounds like the freshman coaches should be up coaching the varsity team. Couldn't hurt.

And at that camp you might have clocked him around that number. I know from talking to him recently that he had been working on getting stronger and that he was putting on too much muscle, so he said he backed off the lifting for bulk and started back going more to a speed and agility sessions with Dan Ryan. His speed is pretty good. And he showed it last week against Covcath. Not saying he has the speed of Shehan at Highlands, but he should do really well at the next level. One of the hardest workers in the weight room or on the filed after practice running routs and sprints that I've seen up at Dixie in a long long time.

I very seriously doubt he runs a 4.9 40. If I recall, scout has him timed at 4.68. Where you get your info from and where I get mine is definately not the same sources. He might have been running a 4.9 tonight with a pulled groin

To Cohorn's defense, He came into this game with a bad groin pull during practice I heard on Tuesday. And it showed tonight. I heard it got worse during the first half. I noticed he wasn't cutting like normal on his routes. That kid is definately not slow. And Brun's leg had Ice on it. Don't know what's going on with that. Kudos to them two for trying to go tonight. Highlands is definately explosive on offense, and the Dixie coaching is just downright horrible. The athletes they have on the sideline is just crazy.

If Pike plays on Highlands he would succeed just as much as Towels does. He doesn't have time to throw nor receivers to catch minus Cohorn.

Very interesting practice at Dixie today. Definately not your usual Dixie practice.

If Pike has some time to throw he can rack up some yards. Cohorn is the hardest reciever in Nky. to cover one on one. I'm assuming Hatton will be playing in this game also. For Dixie to be in this game in the second half, their line and defense must step it up. Cohorn should be at safety. Too smart of a football player and sees the field well. Bruns and Cohorn seem to be in really good shape, they don't seem to get worn down in the second half. Now, Pike at safety? Not a good idea. Dixie should have him up bull rushing up the middle or at one of the end positions. Way too physical of a player to not have in the game on defense. At least on third down plays, IMO.

Pike had 40+ offers last spring I don't think age has anything to do with it. Talent, Attitude, and Work Ethic. Not to mention POTENTIAL

When you're running for your life because your line is getting worn down from playing both ways all night and your desperately trying to make something happen, you might have that. And that secondary is not extremely young. Reese, Cleves, Beatrice, come on now. Maybe you can join Pike at Auburn and get his water for him.

True. They aren't being coached in practice, just standing on the sidelines. So when the Dixie coaches "sometimes" "maybe" insert a player into a position during the game, they're lost. They don't know they're assignments. Then they get an earfull when they come off the field. One coach can't coach all 11 kids on defense during practice alone. I'm retired and have been for a few years now so I have time to stop by Dixie and watch some practices. All I can say is Handlon, Cohorn, and Bruns do more position coaching than the other coaches who are watching. Maybe them 3 can come back some years down the road and coach at Dixie. Who knows, they might win more than one playoff game.
