I have no problem with that risk on McCoy in round two for the Bengals. However, linebackers Allen, Golday, and Rodriguez deserve strong consideration. LB is a position of need and I believe any of these guys can start week one. Doubt he slides but McDonald at DT would be hard to pass on. Also think guard Bisontis is another option to think about. Lastly, it appears there will be a ton CB options available today, so it might be worth waiting for round three to pull the trigger on CB.

I would have loved to have Downs or Bain at 10 and they were both there. And I have NO regrets! Still love the move for DL!

Radio just reported that Dexter is the 10th highest paid interior defensive lineman. What a bargain for the Bengals to get for the most productive interior defensive linemen. Might need to be fact checked but I believe it was Dehner speaking on it.

Love the guy. Solid value. He is projected around 15, not 10.

By a lot, I would rather have Lawerence at this point in his career than either of the two CBs that I think would have been there at 10. Again, I wanted Sykes, Downs, or Bain at 10, but I don’t think any of them will be there. Maybe the Bengals overpaid a little, but I love that they are trying some different to improve the team this year.

If true it makes the Sexy Dexy trade even better! Woods might be there for them in round two. He is sliding and would have been a horrible reach.

Can we just go to a fully automated system for balls and strikes right now?

Surely, the team that is estimated to spend $187-M on the defensive side of the ball (most in the league) isn’t calling out any other team’s defensive spending, especially when they statistically have been average at best lately.

Based on Kiper’s mock draft several guards and linebackers will be taken around this position: LB - Lawrence LB - Thomas LB - Howell LB - Rodriquez G - Rutledge G - Bisontis Also other interesting possibilities are: DE - Parker CB - Johnson CB - Cisse Lots of options but I feel like these are still positions (LB, O line, DE, & secondary) of need. Even with all the defensive upgrades in the off season, second round pick needs to be of starter quality.

I did a quick google check. Bengals are still $20-mil under the 2026 cap but need $7-mil for draft picks. That number will be less now that they don’t have the ten pick.

No where have I seen that anyone thinks the NYG are getting a first round pick. Because of the pending contract and future money involved, along with being 28 and a contract that won’t end until he is 31/33, plus coming off a down year the best I have heard is they could get a second and fourth round picks. Perhaps a token throw in guy included. I am not a capoligist but I believe money upfront wouldn’t count towards this year’s cap, and the team is usually in the top ten with cap space every year, so I am assuming that means they will have room for the contract in the future seasons. Might mean they can’t re-up guys (Hill and/or Turner). With all that said. I know the Bengals will do Bengals things. Stick and Pick. Not be creative. Not pay big money upfront. Same old, same old in Bengal land is what I expect.

Anyone interested in Sexy Dexy? Heard he could be had for a 2nd and 5th. Extend him 2/3 years at 32-mil. He immediately improves the interior of the D line (a major gap) and starts. I am assuming our first round pick starts. This gives us two more starters to go with the three free agents. Not sure it’s enough, but it would be a big improvement. Cap space will be there and it removes the risk of the draft. It also keeps all picks intact for the 2027 draft which is projected to be a much better group.

I know McCoy blew out his knee but based on his pro day he posted some pretty impressive measurable and his tape from 2024 is the best in the draft. I haven’t done a deep dive on his health history. He was injured in January 2025. I just assumed it was a business decision to not play last year so that he was fully healthy and ready for the draft. Assuming the team’s medical staff clear him, I have no problem with him at ten. But, again I don’t know the details that I am sure the NFL teams have. I also put no stock in the idea that some NFL teams have him off the board. Is he off the board because they don’t really need a CB so why risk it? Is he off the board because it’s a crappy franchise that struggles to evaluate talent (you know like the Bengals)? Is he off the board as a total smoke screen hoping he slides? Lastly, I am concerned about training down because everything I have read says this isn’t a great draft but the real talent is in top 15 picks.

Styles, Downs, and Bain are how I rank them. Would have no problem taking any of the three at 10. Personally, I don’t expect Styles, Downs, or Bain to be there at 10. I also think Delane and McCoy are acceptable options at 10. I just like the other three a lot more. Styles and Downs are the two targets I want the most. After those two I don’t mind trading down for picks, BUT they better have a plan with those picks. This team needs two guys with week one starting talent from this draft, however they can get it. I am concerned trading down may not yield two starters.

Not just Nike. I also assume the teams and league get a cut also.

NIL is only a problem for mid-majors. When you have the basketball cash UK has, NIL isn’t the problem.

That is an understatement. Highlight dunk at any level. I will go on the record there won’t be better dunk tonight. Men. Women. College. Pro. It was a video game style dunk straight from NBA Jam (circa 1993)!

I know it’s common during the AAU season to play several times per day. I also think that it’s good prep playing in those compressed competitive holiday tournaments. I think two things can be true here: all players now a days are used to playing multi games per day and St X will be fresher tonight. How big is that advantage is hard to measure, but from the outside looking in I prefer St X’s tournament path to tonight’s game.

When I saw the bracket this is the matchup I wanted. Can’t wait to see X #0 vs GRC #3 and X #4 vs GRC #12 matchups. Everybody knows the stars but these two matchups will be key, in my opinion. I believe St X is more talented. I believe the late games and tired legs finally get to GRC. I also think it’s a defensive game and slower pace of play, which will keep GRC in it going into the 4th quarter. Give me St X 55 GRC 47. Should be a good old good one!
