  1. As the top player on the state’s top team and a University of Louisville signee, Ballard’s Quentin Snider may well be the city’s most analyzed high school basketball player. And even though Snider has enjoyed a strong senior season, Ballard coach Chris Renner said it has included a few bumps. http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20140227/SPORTS05/302270081/-1/rsslink?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  2. Brown is a Senior unless he reclassified when he went to prep. If so, he will be ineligible next year because he started his Freshman year in Kentucky as Class of 2014 so his four years are up this year.
  3. BOYS 1. Hopkinsville (5) 2. Louisville Ballard (4) 3. Scott County 4. Covington Catholic 5. Newport Central Catholic 6. Louisville Trinity 7. Holmes 8. Louisville Pleasure Ridge Park 9. Montgomery County 10. Wayne County
  4. Yeah, when he didn't sign in November, the writing was on the wall. It will be interesting to see who gets involved now, he's had a strong year.
  5. Fern Creek has wins over Bullitt East, PRP, and Doss. Starts 5 Seniors, they could crash the party if shots fall and win the 6th. Got to give major props to Coach Schooler for the way he has turned the program around in one year. Hearing the will have a big time Freshman class coming in next year.
  6. Not sure I would throw a punch at Justin Johnson, but a sucker punch may be your best shot. LOL
  7. Referees blew the whistle way too much and the game never got any flow to it. Martin fouled out in the 4th quarter, Snider sat the 2nd quarter with foul trouble. Neither team could hit a shot from the outside with the exception of Kovacevik. Just wasn't a fun game to watch period. Trey Boyd and Dwayne Sutton both had 18 for Manual. Sutton may be the best player in the 7th next year not named Raymond Spalding. http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20140221/SPORTS05/302210135/1031/sports/Boys-basketball-roundup-Quentin-Snider-leads-Ballard-over-Manual-78-70
  8. A huge banner in the Fern Creek High School gymnasium warns that “The Creek Is Rising.” It’s overflowing this week. After a 65-51 victory over No. 8-ranked Pleasure Ridge Park on Tuesday, the Tigers backed it up with a 78-66 home win over No. 13 Doss on Friday to put the Sixth Region boys’ basketball race in flux as district tournaments approach Monday. http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20140221/SPORTS05/302210136/1031/sports/Boys-basketball-Fern-Creek-upsets-No-13-Doss-78-66
  9. Rebounds can be one of the most overrated stats. Let's say a kid has 15 rebounds, he's 6-6 and gets the inner postion on opposing team free throws. If he grabs 7 off of missed free throws by the other team, then the 15 boards is kind of an inflated number. Most missed free throws doesn't have much of a battle for the boards. Also, in a 30 point game, how many were break away layups from cherry picking. I've had a major D-1 college coach tell me that he could care less how may points a kid scored, He is more interested in how did they get them.
  10. Trinity likes the score just where it's at. They are not a team that likes to run.
  11. This was closer than what I would have thought.
  12. Male starting to get it together at the right time. Back to back wins over Manual & Waggener.
  13. Who's going to win the 6th? Getting ugly in that region.
  14. Ballard 24-5 - Martin 18, Snider 21, Berry 6, Perry 14, Hammonds 2, Dow 4, Wilson 4, Ramsey 2, Kovacevic 6, Schiavone 3, J Ramsey 2, Douglas 8. Simon Kenton 11-11 - Kurtz 3, Bracht 4, Vercheck 4, Morrison 27, Enes 5, Childers 17, Robinson 2 3 Point Goals - Martin, Snider 3, Perry, Kovacevic, Schiavone, Morrison 4, Childers 5
  15. Males backcourt is really bad. Struggles big time vs the press. Easy to turn them over.
  16. Can't knock Hatton's total body of work over his career. Doesn't have the teammates Ruthsatz has. Makes it easy to focus on stopping him (Hatton) only. I like BOTH of them though. Let's see how it plays out.
  17. That's a big time number for a soph regardless of who you play.
  18. Other thread said Davis had 27 which was half of Lafayette's points. Going to have to get more production from the rest of the team for them to win their Region IMO.
