Bluegrass Bowl: John Hardin routs West Jessamine | High school football | Kentucky.com. From the Lexington Herald Leader.

Holtsclaw had 200 yards rushing on 7 carries. He had scoring runs of 51, 60, and 7 yards. He had 76 receiving yards on 3 catches scoring on a 19 yard and 48 yard pass play. He tied the school record for TDs in the first half of play. Congrats to this young man!

QB Patrick Anderson threw for 3 scores. Wade Holtsclaw scored 5 TDs before half time. He ran for 3 and caught 2 more. I'm not sure on Holtsclaws stats but their going to be pretty impressive.

This game is the 1st of the Bluegrass Bowl games to played Saturday Aug 25th at Lexington Catholic. John is coming off a 44-27 Win against (6A) Henry Clay. West Jessamine took a loss to (6A) Tates Creek 28-9. Who wins this game?

Nice to see Wade Holtsclaw from John Hardin getting some love. He is one heck of an athlete who plays many positions, SS, RB, WR. He had 173 yards and a TD on 10 carries Friday night against Henry Clay while also playing defense.

Iroquois is in a bad spot with participation. I'm guessing they had about 30 players on the team. They had a few solid players on the team. All there players played hard and never gave up. The running clock did start in the 1st quarter and Coach Brown did pull the starters very early. If not state records could have been broken for scoring and rushing yards. Believe me to score 47 points in the 1st quarter was unexpected. Punts were not returned and very few passes were attempted. It was one of those nights the ball bounced our way every time.
