Like any fan of their team I have hopes of beating both Highlands and BG, however we will be underdogs in both games. The one loss in my regular season prediction would be to Highlands.

After this year I believe our Dawgs will have a rebuilding year or two. Finding replacements for the likes of Collins, Holtsclaw, Ray, Brown, Doss, and Fleming will be tough but not impossible with the Seniors we have. There is also a shot of some transfers from out of area like years past due to Ft. Knox being near by. Maybe will get another big time player that way. Let's keep the fingers crossed.

John will make it back to the state semi finals in my opinion. QB/DB Patrick Anderson must stay healthy for this to happen. The team will live and die by his play. It's a lot of pressure on him but he will handle it fine. The defense will be strong again just like years past. All State DL and D1 athlete Matt Elam will lead the defensive charge. New Coach Chad Lewis is a good man and will do just fine in replacement of Mark Brown. It should be business as usual For the Dawgs. No worries other than facing Highlands at home and finding a way to beat Bowling Green at their house this year. I predict a 9-1 regular season.

It should be another reload year for the Dawgs. I expect us to make it back to semi state facing Bowling Green in BG. Adding Highlands and PRP to the schedule should better prepare us for the playoffs.

John Hardins Matt Elam Offered By Alabama
slobberknocker replied to slobberknocker's topic in KY Football (High School)
I would also like to see him at UK also. I'm sure if Matt would like some UL interest he would just need to attend a camp. I heard UK wants to play him at Offensive Tackle. I know he loves defense but with his ability to move for his size that may be a great spot for him. -

Matt received a WKU offer today! I'm sure the Alabama offer will create a avalanche of new interest going forward. He is a great respectful young man. -

Junior DL/OL Matt Elam was offered a scholarship by Nick Saban and Alabama this morning while on a visit. This makes his third scholarship offer UK, EKU, Alabama. :ylsuper: -
Congrats to long time Mark Brown assistant Chad Lewis on being named the Bulldogs 2nd head coach. Coach Lewis has been with the program from the start and will surely keep the winning tradition alive at John. He has been the defensive coordinator the last few years. :thumb:

Mark Brown-John Hardin Coach- retires

Assistant Coach Chad Lewis should be a front runner to take over. He is going to make a great head coach if he gets his shot. -
Mark Brown-John Hardin Coach- retires

Coach Brown will be hard to replace. His replacement has very big shoes to fill. John is the football school in Hardin County. Most football athletes funnel to the school. The new coach will have plenty to work with going forward. I expect the team to battle Bowling Green again next year at semi state. -
No offers as of yet, but things are starting to pick up. Wade ran for 1335 yards and averaged 11.7 yards per carry on the year. He scored 24 TD's sharing carries in a wing T offense. He had 11 TD's over 50 yards this year. He is a 3 year starter that was All State on defense the last two years and was converted over to offense due to a team need at the position. He is strong, fast, and a great kid. Someone is going to get a special player for sure. Wade Holtsclaw - Highlight Videos, Schedule & Roster - Hudl

Bowling Green...Tell us what to expect out of them
slobberknocker replied to Hellbird's topic in KY Football (High School)
Oh by the way. Also look out for a trick play if their down with under 2:00 minutes to go on their own 25 yard line. That really hurt to type :puke: -

Bowling Green throws right a ton mostly slants with Fant going deep here and there. Their QB isn't very mobile and doesn't run a lot. The Pillow kid is extremely fast and can break for a TD at any time. Tisdale runs hard but isn't super fast. If you can stop Fant you will have a great chance to win. He is their Mr. Everything and rightfully so. He single handily beat us and Warren Central. I would put my best athlete on Fant all night and hope for the best. If the game is on the line they will go to him for sure. I also forgot to mention they have a great coach and staff who really prep their guys to play. They expect to win every game and you can tell it in their swagger. -

I will disagree with easypro, other than Fant our skill positions where just as good or better than BG. -

Bowling Green did what they had to do to win. Not scoring our two point conversion in the first half did us in. We needed a half yard after two off sides penalties by BG on the extra point. We decide to go for two with our HEAVY package and failed to score with a full back run off tackle. I personally would have ran a QB sneak for the half yard. Congrats to Bowling Green! Good Luck at state. -

49-0 at the half. All starters pulled at the half. QB Patrick Anderson passed for two TDs, running back Wade Holtsclaw had 2 carries for 80 yards and two scores. Running back Jalen Fleming had 2 carries for 70 yards and two scores. The Dawgs defense played well with Domonick Brown leading the way from his LB position.
