This left a number of Dixie fans scratching their heads. He was 2nd to Hatton in scoring, lead the team in rebounds, blocked shots and dumped 21pts in the championship game. Great job by the young man.

I'm sure both teams legs were probably not there with the length of this game and coming back in less than 24hrs from the semi's. The more I think about it, I guess I'll cut them some slack. They left it all on the floor.

I agree 100%. Geesh, I wonder if any other regions have to go through this.

That happens in championship games when kids are playing in front of 5000 people. I thought things got a little scattered at times, but overall was a very entertaining game.

Both teams shooting percentage from the field were in the 30's...not pretty.

He walked him to the bench on his second foul also.

A very unique kid....would go out of his way to help a little old lady cross the street if the opportunity presented itself.

Do we know the reason why they don't allow it? I'm trying to think of a good reason and coming up blank. Maybe someone out there can help us out.

I like Holmes chances of being there next year over NewCath....but you are correct, with what Dixie returns they should have plenty of fire power.

SB if you look real close, there are a couple of red Dixie fans right down front....good chance he was acknowledging them imo.

Yeah that's a darn shame they didn't have an extra slot for him. He really played a big part in this tournament.

Absolutely the craziest game I have ever seen.... Both teams played their tails off until the final buzzer...umm make that 5 final buzzers. So many twists and turns and Dixie ends the game with no player taller than 6'2" on the floor. The Colonels worst nightmare occured with Pike getting in foul trouble and eventually fouling out. Stansberry fouls out in the 1st or 2nd ot and Muntis in the 4th ot. How they pulled this one out is beyond me. Big kudos to Mr Muntis coming off the bench and picking up some huge rebounds and of course the infamous free throws. Hassel with nothing but net from the charity line.... and Evans sealing the deal with the Regional Championship on the line. Tell me those kids aren't on cloud nine tonight!

They will certainly have an opportunity next year returning 8 of their top ten players.

Not very often....probably didn't want any silly fouls.

I thought Dixie's defense was the key in this one. Stansberry and Pike shut down the paint all night. Boone couldn't get anything going down low. Really nice night by Stansberry on the boards and came up with some nice blocks as well. Pike really turned things up tonight against Brown....that's the key to beating Boone imo.

I'm with you there Walter....I saw Dixie's season flash before my eyes when I saw him land on his back.

Oh, and it's my understanding that Dixie has been invited to play in a big tournament in New York next season over Christmas break. Talk about some good exposure.
