Rockcastle's Hammond Picks Up Offers
coachforlife replied to Clyde's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Hammond is an elite player...bottom line. To get offers from the schools that she has already as a junior proves that. Tennessee is not even in the league of UCONN at this point...no one is. But to be elite, IMO, does not mean you have to be in the top 5 or 6 kids in the country that go to UCONN. Elite is top 100 at least...probably 200 with as many girls that are now concentrating on basketball. -
Rockcastle's Hammond Picks Up Offers
coachforlife replied to Clyde's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Hammond is a legit Big Time D1 player. She needs to keep working on her handling skills and one on one type moves but seems to have the talent and drive to get there.I hope she stays in state so we can watch her. Both Louisville and Kentucy have been fun to watch the past two years.Could she be a program and job saver for Coach Cowles at WKU?? -

2010 Kentucky Girls All-Star Team
coachforlife replied to Option Right's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Bramblett is a quality player. Tryouts are based on opinion and impressions. A committee voted for 9 players, Miss Kentucky gets an automatic spot, and the Head Coach picks 2. Unfortunately for the kid and her supporters, she was not part of this 12. She will now move on to a good college career...not much anyone can say/do about it now. So everyone moves on.:deadhorse: -
Any news on KY All Star Tryouts?
coachforlife replied to crazy8s's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
team is supposed to be announced this afternoon or tomorrow morning. usually, information gets leaked...but have heard absolutely nothing yet!!!! -
I was at two tryout sessions this past weekend in Campbellsville.Man what a tough job of picking a team. There where at least 28 out of the 39 who i saw with a shot of making the team.Coach Adams and his staff where very prepared and ran a great tryout from what I saw and heard from other coaches..Good luck to him and the Ky. team the rest of the way..

coachforlife replied to nedreader's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Manual , SHA, Boone Co., Marion Co., Etown, Butler, Anderson Co., Ballard, Mercy,Clark Co. ,Madison Central, Rockcastle Co., Bowling Green,Calloway Co., Owensboro Catholic,Ryle,Henderson Co.,Clay Co., Franklin Co., Scott Co.These are in no particular order but a pretty good list of top teams in the state next year..I am sure I have left off a few.. -
Coach Noble sat in front of me for the championship game Saturday night. A couple of people approached her and I overheard some of their statements. She never once said anything negative toward anyone (like I may have done withouth thinking). She handled herself with more class and dignity than I would have in that situation.

Chaos throughout...but since you werent there, I will digress and understand that my eyes, ears, and all other body systems deceived me and that you are probably right. I am sorry for doubting you.:isurrender::idunno::notworthy:

We disagree. Referees should not leave the floor in chaos.:taz:
-
Ha!!! Hard to believe, huh?

The only signal they gave was that "we are outta here." There (in my opinion) should have been some time put back on the clock when the ball went out of bounds on the last possession. They did not get together to even discuss it. The alternate ref at the table seemed confused at the situation. I was sitting right behind the table. Everyone was left in confusion. Both teams stood there for what seemed to be a minute or so before shaking hands. It was just poorly handled throughout.

I was there and felt horrible for the Rockcastle kids. The game was extremely poorly officiated throughout. I am from Louisville so I did not have a dog in the fight. But it was extremely bad!!!!!!!!! Those kids and coaches work that hard for that long and then dont get a fair shake is a little hard to accept. I am not saying Rockcastle was better than Scott County. Scott County is a tremendous team as well and should be congratulated for going as far as they did. But the way the game was called was not acceptable. The referees just ran off the floor leaving everyone standing there wondering what was going on. The crowd was booing the situation for the most part...not the kids. The Rockcastle student section may have booed the team, but they are kids as well...so you may take that into account. Yes, the referees were from Louisville.

Who are your top three? Slaughter, Drake, and Rowe? I would personally vote for Rowe, but I think Slaughter will win it because of the publicity she gets...and deserves most of the time.
-
From the outside looking in, i would think that Male should have tremendous potential in every sport. With the number of kids they can choose from, they should be competitive accross the board.

Christian Academy of Louisville 68 Manual 67 (OT)
coachforlife replied to REH5's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
It was a very good game. I agree that it had a championship feel to it. It was very well played up until the last layup was made...not sure how she got that wide open...but the better team won that night. -
Bullitt East 67 Southern 38
coachforlife replied to mcpapa's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
I looked back at the score and even when they "played down to the level of their opponent (Fairdale)", they still won by 13???????????...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm -
Bishop Brossart 58 Campbell County 53
coachforlife replied to Larry Bud's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
I agree with "family"...the girls should be motivated themselves at this time of year. This is the payoff for their work. If they are not excited about the opportunity, most times there's not much a coach can say to drastically change that (especially with girls). -

Elizabethtown 128 Fort Knox 13
coachforlife replied to The Scribe's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
I wonder how many Fort Knox players and parents will be in attendance the next time Marion County pounds Etown? Etown might beat Fort Knox by 150 next year if they were to show up, but it might offer some satisfaction watching the bully getting beat up? -
must have been a defensive struggle??????????:isurrender::eek::ohbrother:
