They are a top 2 team in the state, and until tonight you couldn't tell me the national recognition wasn't deserved. Now hopefully they can stop the hype and get back to business just like last year. Bottom line is they are 34-3 in there last 37 games dating back to right after the loss to NCC last season. That is good I don't care who you are

Holmes had the same issue with the kid from Hazard.

I loved the over-rated chant and the fans rushing the court, don't thing Holmes will forget that at BOK. Hopefully this loss lights a fire under there tails like NCC did last season.

Holmes is 23-2 you can't over rate that. They have already avenged one loss and in all probability will have an opprotunity to avenge this one as well. Good teams lose games too, The best NBA team ever lost 10 for crying out loud.

Major differences I seen throughout the game, Boone was very very intense from the opening whistle, Holmes came out flat. Boone operated well in there half-court and took care of the ball, Holmes made several mistakes and turned the ball over alot. Holmes left alot of points at the stripe tonight, Boone knocked free throws down (with the exeption of the one kid that struggled down the stretch). Defensively Holmes didn't get off screens and that led to quite a few easy baskets under the rim for Boone, every shot Holmes took tonight was contested. Holmes also missed some lay-ups during the course of the game which is very uncharacteristic, and they forced up some outside shots that they had no business taking which is becoming more and more common. The only bright spot offensively for Holmes tonight was Elijah Pittman who again played very well, but Holmes had no answer for McFarland tonight.

Congrats to Holmes and Scott Co. It is good to see Kentucky getting some pub in the national rankings, glad Scott Co could join the Bulldogs in this one, I have been waiting to see them up there.

Nice win for Scott Co. It is hard to beat any team 3 times in one season though, if they play in the Regions it should be a good one.

We will see how good he is this evening. Congrats to all these guys for being nominated.

Holmes in this one by 10+ Boone is a solid team and it will be a hostile home court advantage but Holmes is just too good to be slowed by anyone in N.Ky IMO. I know some of you may remember me saying that Highlands, Hazard, Boone would be only stretch that I seen Holmes could lose. I still feel that way but Boone is going to have to play lights out. If not Holmes will get to Regions without a loss because I don't see any district foe stopping them.

Are you serious? To get to the regions HC has to beat Holmes in the first round. I don't see that happening.

I almost think it would help a half court offense more than a running team. A running team may tend to get tired a little easier on a longer floor. Half court offense's it gives them more space to operate which would be a good thing.

I don't think it is a big deal. If you don't want them to yell "air ball" at you, then don't shoot air balls. Its that simple, if you don't want a speeding ticket then don't speed, I can do this all day. Lol. I was at a game this year however that every time Elijah Pittman touched the ball the opposing student yelled out "soulja boy tell'em, YOULLLL." For those of you not into hip hop music, Soulja Boy is a rapper and that is how nearly everyone of his songs start off. It is quite annoying and it was annoying that night (although I giggled the first couple of times they did it), but that was a case of a student section attacking a trait and his look, because Eli does resemble him a little bit. However it had nothing to do with making or missing a shot or anything that the kid could control, just his physical appearance. Is making fun of a persons physical traits going too far?

I wouldn't mind seeing that either because the only way that would happen is the Sunday night game for all the marbles because they are on opposite sides of the bracket.

I never gave it much thought, but I think that playing on a college court in a nuetral enviornment would be good for all teams involved prior to heading to rupp. A team that is only 6 or 7 deep will have to sub stratigically and foul trouble could be a big issue for those schools. Teams that like to take the air out of the ball and play a slower half court game have more room to operate, and teams that elect to open it up and run all game will have some issues with fatigue. Better to find this stuff out in the regionals than get a rude awakening in Lexington.

I liked Whitaker alot, he played hard, he played physical, intense on defense, and he could handle the rock. He shooting could improve a bit but I liked him alot. He was definately the best player on Hazard, he stood out to me.

Whitaker handled the ball really well tonight but he couldn't finish. Hazard is a solid team from what I watched today. Holmes was a little flat but they played through it. The game was never really in doubt after the start of the second quarter.

How does beating the 4th best team in a 4 team district by double figure equate into you being able to beat the best team in the state?

I know the play he is talking about, Holmes was inbounding the ball and near a 5 second call, Lother shut the baseline off, Riley tried to run through him and Lother fell. May or may not have been a shove, a foul was called, and Highlands got the ball back. It was during the comeback when they were down by 19. I don't think there was a blatant shove or anything that would have warrented a tech. There was contact and an offensive foul was called however.

Wow, twice in 3 weeks, Ballard is a very good team, I seen them against Holmes. 7th will be a fun region to watch come tourny time. Whoever comes out of there and heads to Rupp has a legit shot to get to the Sunday nigh game.

I don't know alot about Hazard to make an accurate prediction, however I can tell you they will have to play lights out to beat this Holmes bunch. Holmes played a pretty physical game last night with Highlands and had to play the whole 4 quarters, this game is a little earlier than most games (7:30pm typical tip off) so fatigue could have some sort of effect on them, but that is not a reason for them to lose. When/if they get back to Rupp they will have to deal with 4 games in 3 days if they are so lucky. With all that being said, I will take Holmes in this one, no point spread though, as for my lack of knowledge of the Hazard program.
