Boone County 59 Holy Cross 44

I was not at the game, but from what I heard, the score was not indicative of the game. Tied or a 2 point game with 3 minutes left.

I predicted Boone to win by 15...anyone have any details as to how the lead swelled to 15 in that short amount of time?

A few costly turnovers and some lacks transition defense and FREE THROWS.

Were the turnovers forced? or unforced?

Boone never trailed after halftime. Boone's coaches went to a 3-2 zone later in the game, and it worked well. Boone played good halfcourt defense. They were up about 6 with a few minutes. HC tried to play stall ball in the 3rd and 4th Q but did not have the lead, and it was not effective.

Wouldn't you hold the ball if the #2 team in the Region was letting you only down by two or four when your team can't shoot very well?? If HC would have played the style of Boone, they would have lost by thirty. HC hung with them for a while, but Gabbard took over at the end of the game. HC also shot ALOT better than Friday night against CCH.

A few of each.

Which isn't saying much at all...

If I'm a Boone fan I'm very concerned about the defense displayed tonight. Holy Cross had 30 points at the half. That is a scorching pace for the Indians' anemic offense. This was all while Boone was pressing and in their man-to-man pressure D. I was not at all impressed. They bad getting back and they really didn't do very well defending the post despite a huuuge size advantage.

Sure they held the Indians to 44 and won the game by 15 but they had to go to a zone to do that. Is that really the style this team wants to play considering their strengths on offense?

Disappointed to see the low 2nd half scoring out of HC...

Can't wait to see this district played out

Yes. I thought it was smart for HC to slow the game down.

How did the JV game go?

Big win for BC as they keep rolling and seem to be gaining momentum for the 9th Region tourney. This very well could have been a 1st round game in the 9th Regiion tourney and still might. Look for both of these teams to make some noise. HC is well coached and they play tough. There is no easy out in that district. Cov Cath is playing better as well.

HC has to beat Holmes in the first round of the districts to make the 9th region tourney. I have a feeling the score of that game will be in the 31-19 range.
