Two teams from Kentucky in this weeks' poll! :ylsuper:

18. Covington, KY., Holmes 23-1 Have won 34 of last 36 games PV: 15

23. Georgetown, KY., Scott Co 19-3 Jr. F Dakotah Euton committed to UK PV: NR

The close game with Scott caused Holmes to drop a few spots, but congrats to both teams! Again, I don't look much in to national rankings, but to have TWO teams represent Kentucky in a top 25 national poll is great exposure for our state and players. Also, it makes the possibility of a rematch at state even more exciting, having two top 25 teams in the country go at it in the Greatest Show on Earth. :thumb:

Congratulations to both Holmes and Scott County.

Great exposure. I remain somewhat skeptical, though, about the information used by the national services to arrive at rankings (in spite of Ryan Ernst's column last weekend). I know the UK commitment means something, but does it strike anyone else as odd that, between the two schools, the only player mentioned by name (Euton) is possibly only the sixth or seventh best player between the two programs?

Congratulations to both Holmes and Scott County.

Ditto!

Dont know much about the individuals on these teams, but does strike me as a little bit out of place if you will....

Not too sure what to think of the national ratings...

I love the national exposure for Ky teams!

It does seem that through most of my lifetime that nationally ranked teams have not fared well during post season. Several being beat during district and regional play. I would guess that would mainly be due to most of them being from the 7th and 11th regions though.

Congrats to both Holmes and Scott County!

Probably because he is the only commited player from the bunch:thumb:

Too bad the format has those teams playing in the second round and not further down the road ! Rupp would be close to a sell out for that rematch on saturday night.

I agree. :thumb:

Congrats to Holmes and Scott Co. It is good to see Kentucky getting some pub in the national rankings, glad Scott Co could join the Bulldogs in this one, I have been waiting to see them up there.

Are tickets on sale yet for the Holmes/Scott County Sweet Sixteen matchup?

:thumb: A Scott Co-Holmes rematch would only be wishful thinking by some at this point. Both teams have a long ways to go.

I agree...but not as far as some of the other teams. :D

I would certainly consider them the favorites. Last year, I would have bet the farm that Lexington Catholic and Mason would play in the final. Three years ago, who would have imagined Madison Central upsets Scott County in the regional?

Very legit points. I'm personally hoping SC gets upset in the region tourney this year.
