Yeah Shelton only played a couple of games at the beginning of the summer.

From what I've seen from Sawyer Williams this summer, he may be the best big man on Owen County's team and that is with Shelton and Colligan on there.

Jordan Shelton is one of the top returning big mean in the region, averaging a double double the past two seasons.

I agree Knipp is as good of player that I have seen in the state... With the exception on Pittman from Holmes

Neeley is from Owen County.

Neeley has been Owen's ace all year, and is in my opinion the best pitcher in the 31st and one of the top in the 8th Region. Not taking anything away from Cox, he is very talented also(I believe he is going to play at the University of the Cumberlands). Owen had the pitching all year, they just never had the hitting.

From what I have heard Neeley has a few small schools interested in him, last time I talked to the kid he said Transy was his #1 choice. I have also heard that EKU has made contact with him. I guess it all depends on how well he performs this summer.

Yes, there has been several times this year when Neeley has been pulled with a lead, and the relief pitching hasn't come through, but it seems like Owen's Coach never learned.:ohbrother:

Williams shooting % was higher than Colligan's he just didnt get up enough shots to be ranked in the KHSAA stats

Owen does a "Senior Send Off" before the first District Tourny game.

You could see all three at the same time. Coach Duvall did this a couple times last year playing Shelton at the 3.

Williams never took a shot outside of 6 feet last year. That makes 2 out of 3. Shelton led the team in 3 point field goal percentage so why is he not allowed to step out?

Owen might have the best big man rotation in the region in Jordan Shelton, Michael Colligan, and Sawyer Williams. But their season will hinge on the development of point guard Kyle Kelly, and off guards Blake Lewis and Stone Osborne. The Rebels lost their 3 starting guards in Drew Marston, Collin Gamble, and Blake Traylor to graduation along with Royce Neeley who saw significant minutes. Kelly is more of a true point guard than Marston was as he looks to pass first instead of score like Marston did. Lewis and Osborne both have great potential as they are both long and athletic.

Matt Harris and Andrew Giles(earned the loss) pitched after Neeley. As to why Owen's Coach pulled Neeley I have no clue, a few of the boys said after the game that Coach Webster wanted to save him for their rematch with Western Hills tuesday. :idunno:Neeley pitched 5 against Williamstown.

I think the out come of this game would have been different if Owen's Coach would have left Neeley on the mound instead of pulling him after the 6th, he was dominent all game. But congrats to Carroll County they are having an amazing season. All Tournament Team for Owen County Neeley Cox

Neeley threw 70 pitches in 1 2/3 innings striking out 3 and giving up 1 walk and 2 earned runs. The Rebels defense had 8 errors behind Neeley and finished with 11 for the night. It was one of the worst games i have seen the Owen play in a while.

Final from Owen. Rebels pull out a District Seed win. Good pitching and hitting from both teams.

They were not resting their position players, but I think Franklin threw off until the last inning. Also Franklin's Coach got mad at a few of his starters and benched them.

Final after 7. A monsoon hit in the first inning, but weather wasn't to bad after that. Game was played at Franklin. Both teams hit the ball well, and Owen got some good pitching out of junior Corey Towles.

Tates Creek threw four or five pitchers this game.

Final after 7. Hard fought game by both team's with many errors from both sides, Owen took the lead 5-4 in the 4th but couldn't maintain. Neeley had a strong outing tonight(3 earned runs i believe with 6 k's) but was pulled after the 5th due to pitch count with the score 6-5, the Rebels then brought in freshman Andrew Giles who finished the game. Owen has proven to me that they can compete with the best. Good luck to both teams this weekend:thumb:
