redsfan Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Carroll County makes a huge comeback in the 7th inning to win the NCKC tournament against Qwen County. :dancingpa Unbeliveable to say the least! It was one of those games where everyone on the bench contributed at some point during the game. Not only the most exciting game I have ever witnessed but maybe the craziest as well. Have to feel bad for Owen, Neely pitched a great game and deserved to win this game. I could write a book on this game but long story short , down 6-1 heading into the seventh Tyler Gross leads the inning off with a homer sparking the rally. In all the excitement I am a bit sketchy on the details but Meadows triples in a run then scores on a Home Run by DC Craig. Hendrick and Kenny Welch reach base and then Proctor comes up with a big infield hit and a wild throw scores the tying and go ahead runs. Hendrick come in and slams the door shut picking up the save to go along with the win he had earlier in the day vs. Gallatin. All Tournament Team for Carroll County Proctor Wise Hendrick Craig (MVP)
KY Baller Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I think the out come of this game would have been different if Owen's Coach would have left Neeley on the mound instead of pulling him after the 6th, he was dominent all game. But congrats to Carroll County they are having an amazing season. All Tournament Team for Owen County Neeley Cox

ccbaseball3 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Not sure on this but he might of ran out of innings he could pitch. I heard he pitched 3 innings against Williamstown and then 6 against Carroll so that's 9 innings.
KY Baller Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Matt Harris and Andrew Giles(earned the loss) pitched after Neeley. As to why Owen's Coach pulled Neeley I have no clue, a few of the boys said after the game that Coach Webster wanted to save him for their rematch with Western Hills tuesday. :idunno:Neeley pitched 5 against Williamstown.
CCHS_Dad Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) If Neely pitched earlier in the week he might have been out of innings since you are limited to 15 in any rolling 7 day period. If he went 5 against Williamstown Thursday and 6 on Saturday he only had 4 innings for last Monday through Wednesday and also through next Thursday. I have no idea how many innings he threw against Williamstown just posting the possiblities. Edited May 10, 2009 by CCHS_Dad typo
CCHS_Dad Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Congrats to Chris Hendrick for 8 shutout innings on Saturday. Defense did a nice job in the Gallatin County game behind him but it is still 8 scoreless . Chris gave up one run last week in two starts and a save situation.
