Run rule is 10 after the 5th.

Who pitched for Owen?

Neely started and took the loss. He didn't have a lot of help from his defense tonight.

 

Actually Owen County scored 2 unearned runs in the first inning, Carroll scored 3 in the bottom of the inning. Owen scored an earned run in the top of the second then Carroll scored 10 straight over the next two innings finish the win. Not sure what was earned and unearned for Carroll County.

Neeley threw 70 pitches in 1 2/3 innings striking out 3 and giving up 1 walk and 2 earned runs. The Rebels defense had 8 errors behind Neeley and finished with 11 for the night. It was one of the worst games i have seen the Owen play in a while.

Owen has to be better than what their defense played. They did not help Neely at all even on the simplest of plays. He actually had Carroll off balance with his breaking pitch early but when you extend a pitcher more than 25 pitches an inning its going to catch up quickly and it did.

The JV game looked more like a varsity game than the varsity game did. Some of the JV players could be cracking this line up soon with the way they are playing for Carroll County.
