If they don't get others involved then they have no shot at Regional. With performances like these we can see the potential in Elliott County and they can make a run and possibly make an appearance at Rupp. Good win and hopefully they can continue to get others involved because they are a very good team and it makes it more frustrating when they become one demential instead of playing like we all know they can. And nothing will never change because the coaches allow this to happen. It really makes it tough as a fan to sit there and watch all their potential as a team go down the drain because they want one kid to get his. Maybe if they would have opened the job up when Mays retired they would have had somewhat of a chance this year.

I am about the same way because I feel for these kids. How much have these kids suffered in Elliott because of coaching (maybe state championship,couple more game won this year and I am sure down the road)? It makes me just hope that they can have fun and compete and go to the next level and maybe get taught the game of basketball.

What are some of the keys to the game! I think that they have to bang with Fairview, Ison has to have a big game because of Fairview's size; Knipp also needs to help on the boards big time. Also, if Cody has a good shooting night then they will be fine as well, if they pass the ball and have team involvement the same way they did at Russell, I see Elliott winning this one and showing people how good they can be. No team ball no win IMO.

Made the transition this year; really don't understand that either.

The game will be Friday 7:30 at Elliott County High School, will follow the championship of the girls "A" final. This is going to be a great 16th Region matchup and will be one that I am looking forward to. If Elliott plays team ball I believe they can win this one; because that is what it's going to take. You are correct in everything you say in the your posts. I just like to give Timmy constructive criticism on here. He is a player that is so valuable to his team he has to learn everyday because the team will only go as far as he wants to take them.

This game wasn't even close the whole way, a lot of people contributed tonight and Elliott really played good team ball. Timmy had 29 and had one of the best dunks over someone I have seen in a while, (he was a man among boys tonight) I would love to know more stats because Elliott really shot the ball the best I have seen them this year. Friday should be a great game and it is going to take an effort like this to beat a good Fairview team. Good Win for the Lions as they improve to 14-5.

A lot closer than I expected. Hopefully Elliott can pull out the win tomorrow night and these two teams can meet for a great 16th Region battle.

Pittman is the defending state-champion and hasn't slacked any so he is my best player in the state from what I have seen. I haven't got to see Sewell play but have heard an awful lot about him. I think Pittman is the man to beat because of the trophey he already has and the importance he brings to his team.

The Lions looked good enough to win tonight, some things that I wish they would work on is ball control. With about 3 minutes left they had about a 10 point lead and you would of thought they was getting beat. Timmy finished with I think 29 and Daniel Fraley had a big game tonight going 4-5 or 4-6 beyond the three point line. Elliott has some really good shooters that doesn't get utilized enough. West Carter was wanting Fraley to shoot they ball and he was open a lot tonight; hard telling what he could have done. Elliott got the win and hats off to West Carter for fighting till the end (Rayburn will make that team a lot more competitive and should be back this week from what I gathered). Elliott improves to 13-5 and will play Tuesday night, they will play the winner of the Russell/Raceland game. The rest of the all "A" games are held at Elliott so maybe this will be an advance to return to Richmond for the Lions.

I think it seemed as bad as it did because he shot 16 3's at 6'7''. I don't think I have ever seen him postup and score from making a post move; you are totally right. I wish someone would tell him that he doesn't have to have 40 everynight for colleges to look at him. This kid is a beast at the high school level and he is going to get noticed (already has)but he needs to understand that they look at more than just how many points you have. We need him to shoot and be the best player on the floor, no doubt, but there has to be better ways of getting him looks. Cody Nickell is a great shooter and I have never seen a set play for Cody coming off a screen. Just saying, there are better ways of making a basketballl team win than just coming down the floor and firing one up.

I am not comparing the two teams in any way. From what I saw, do you think that he is helping the team out by taking that many shots! Elliott has a pretty good team and if the coach thinks that he needs to shoot that many times for them to win an be successful then it makes me question the coaching, if that is what you are referring to for them to win; just saying. I know these are kids playing and they should enjoy every minute of it. All I am saying is that I really don't believe I have attended a High School basketball game and seen a kid take that many shots without any reprehension.

Did anybody attend the game because I hope they saw what I saw. I believe there was a little to many shots taken by one player. Just wondering if anybody saw what I saw.

Yes I believe you are right. I couldn't exactly remember how that went down but I remember none wanting to play Elliott.

If they wasn't such a great team would be still be in this discussion today like they are still lacing them up! They obviously had a impact on a lot of people positive and negative so they did something and can we just leave it at that.

No we need to win by more than one due to the loss we took and home by one. If we beat East by more than one then we win the district in first place because we would be tied with wins in district assuming East and Elliott won out; making it go to the points. So this is a big game because I don't think either team wants to be second because they would have to play a scary West Carter team with Rayburn back.

Should be a really tough and hard fought game, no different from the last one. Elliott didn't play their greatest game last contest with East playing their best but it basketball and every game can have so many twist and turns. The Lions have to really play a good game to win this one but I will go with the Lions by 6. This is going to be a great ball game so either team winning is no surprise to me. Big district match-up! I think Kyle Brown is a freshman for West Carter and I know he had 20+ against Elliott.

He is averaging a states best 31 points a game and he has gotten offers from Tennessee Tech, Akron, and other small schools in division 3 and higher. I talk to him on a regular basis and IMO I think he is going to wait until the right school comes along and offers him. Plus he still has to get his ACT score because he has only took it once I believe when he was a freshman. But this kid will definitely be getting some good looks from some big time schools just because of all the abilities he offers for a D-1 school.

Kyle Brown hit a three with 2.0 seconds left so it sounds a little better than it was but you are right and this district is wide open just as the Region. Elliott isn't a team right know that is playing near full potential and we probably won't see that until next season (which isn't a excuse but these kids just don't have experience) IMO. But they know every game is a dog fight and the district and region will be very interesting I totally agree.

Kyle is going to be a dandy player but as we all know it runs in the family , so happy to see this young man doing so well because he is a great young individual.
