  1. It just looked wierd I guess. I was cheering for Holmes anyway. This was one of the best state championship games of all time.
  2. Even if the player jumped from the frontcourt and caught it in the air before establishing himself in the backcourt? I don't want to hijack the thread so again I would like to congratulate Holmes on a hard fought state championship. Wondering about that call is just killing me.
  3. What a great game but I have one question. On the Holmes inbounds pass with about 24 secs left. The ball was thrown into the back court and the player looked like he jumped from the front court and caught the ball in the air before landing in the back court. Wouldn't that be considered over and back? It doesn't matter now and I congratulate Holmes on a great win but I was just wondering if anyone else saw the play.
  4. Don't remind me about 1986. That is still being talked about.
  5. I listened to the livestream for a short time and the radio announcers were very vocal about the officials. Was it really that bad?
  6. When does the Boy's 14th Regional Tourn. start?
  7. Sounds like a great half by the cards. I hope that they can continue in the second half. I wonder if Mont. Co. will try to press like they did against Bourbon Co. I wish I could have been there. Thanks again for the updates.
  8. The 14th regional tourn. might be one of the best shows in town. Everyone would do themselves a favor by going down to Powell County to watch the games.
  9. Wow, Perry Central must be playing well at the end of the season. Shelby Valley is a quality team. I thought that the score would be much different. The 14th should be a battle between Hazard and PCC.
  10. I liked it with Daniels in also. It will keep guards from penetrating and provides for a lot of traps. It does leave the corners open though. I wouldn't chance it against a team like Elliot county. The Cards played a great game I am happy for the win against a rival team. Things are getting down to the wire now and the cardinals are looking good.
  11. I love the 1-3-1 but I don't understand coming out in it when you know that Mont. county was going to shoot the three at the end of the game. They hit two big shots and got right back into the game. It took two possesions for Clark co to switch back to man to man. I think that the 1-3-1 is effective when you have someone like Jalen Daniels up top. He has a big wingspan and can cover a lot of ground. As aggresive as Patrick Bailey is, he just can't cover that much territory. Coach Humprey does a good job but I really question a few of the decisions made in this game. The Cards still got a big win in a tough road game.
  12. I can't believe Bobby Keith hasn't been mentioned. He had some great teams at Clay County.
  13. Another great win for GRC. One thing that I noticed tonight was how good of a shooter that Martin is. He got some good minutes tonight as did the rest of the bench. These last few games have been real confidence boosters for the team. They are looking better each time out.
  14. Great game for the cards and the bench got some great minutes. Christian Brewer did an awsome job tonight filling in for Robert Hatton. Christian looked more relaxed than he has all season. I hate to see any player get hurt but this is going to help GRC in the long run. Everyone seems to be improving and the bench is getting deeper. I know that it has been said on here before but I would just like to add that Robert Hatton is one of the best team leaders that I have ever seen. I watched him cheer on every player tonight as the cardinals played another great game. He carries himself with such class. More athletes could follow his example.
  15. I had the opportunity to watch Perry Co. Central play in the 5th/3rd. They are still developing as a team and should be a hard team to beat come tournament time. They seemed to be very physical and like to scrap and fight for the ball. Any team that does that will have to see some good things happen. Hazard is very talented and is probably still the best team in the region but this could be a year that a team comes out of nowhere and shocks everyone. One thing is for sure; the 14th is always a battle to the end.
  16. Great win for the cards. The bench must have played well in Hattons's absence. Glad to hear that Brewer got a chance to start. He is a great shooter and will be a wonderful asset to the team. I am also glad to hear that Zollo had a big game. I think that a boost of confidence will do him wonders. Things are looking good for March.
  17. Lexington Catholic found the weak spot in the GRC offence. A good press will shut the card's guards down. Most of the points of the 3rd quarter run were made off turnovers. If Clark county could have made this a half court game, it would have been a different outcome. It is hard to score when you don't get the chance to shoot. Catholic made a great adjustment during halftime and came out on fire.
  18. This was by far the best game that GRC has played this year. Everything seems to be coming together for the Cards. Hazard will get better as the year goes on as they are still coming out of the football season. Coach Holland is a great coach and will have the Bulldogs ready at the end of the season. Practice should be interesting in Hazard as some attitudes need to be adjusted. Congrats to the Cards on an impressive win.
  19. This will be a tough matchup for both teams. Clark Co should have the edge down low in the paint but the guards of Hazard are very talented. Josh Whitaker is simply amazing to watch. For the Cards, Corey Rogers is a beast. I think Clark will win by 10 because they have a more balanced attack, but if the Hazard guards catch on fire and clark turns the ball over it could be a different outcome.
