Ask the Ticket Office at each school if this is still a Rivalry? I would say both teams didnt make much money on these games. Someone told me the other day that Boyd County hasnt brought the top set of bleachers out all year. I remember years ago, even the top bleachers was almost full. Gonna be a tough job for the Staff to bring the tradition back to Boyd.

Boyd has lost Wes Steele(Starting Point Guard), Zach Wilson (Starter-Best Athlete), Zach Messer(6'8" Center-should have started), Kevin Stewart and Donnie Bryant - Both hard nosed defensive players.

The only way this game will ever be a rivalry again, is if Wayne Breeden comes back and Boyd county can round up some Ramey Home kids. Both programs have weakened tremendously, especialy Boyd.

I would say losing 3 Seniors(2 - starters) and 2 Juniors will probably make you look worse. Give it time, it might even be worse than that.

The Royals seem to be on a roll.

BW, how many years has it been since our Region won a state title? Seems like I remember Ashland playing Paintsville about 10 yrs ago and losing the State Championship, but cant remember a team winning it.

I am gonna guess we will be putting him and Rayburn on this Duo list together next year.

You referring to the underclassmen, or all the team? The switching of coaches has nothing to do with Boyd's problems.

Lost 5-8 players? I know of 2 Juniors and a Senior, but not sure about the rest. I as well have heard the same grumblings, but Life moves on and it is what it is.

Rose Hill definetly has more young talent than Ashland and will be better for years to come, but I am gonna have to go with Coach Biggs in this one. Ashland by 6.

Elliott will be in the final four and will probably be the crowd favorite, especially if surrounded by Lexington and Louisville schools, but I dont think they can pull it off in the Championship. I would love to see it, but I believe their Championship run surrounds the effort of one young player, and unfortunately that player gives only what he wants to give. With that in mind, I am gonna say that Elliott does not win the Championship. IMO.

Hard to rank an individual in a Team sport. I believe most players feed off of the talent around them as well. Ranking individuals is too tough, always leave good players out, and ranking teams is too obvious, so I think we ought to rank players in pairs - the best duos on each team. 1. Ethan Faulkner/Fergusson 2. Evan Faulkner/ T. Knipp (Timmy is more talented, Chris hustles twice as much). 3. B. Jackson/Collins 4. Barker/T. Boyles 5. Terry/Gregg 6. Oney/Rayburn 7. T. Jackson/Barnhill 8. Metz/Maze 9. Bonner/Delaney 10. T. Williams/Craft Chris Knipp and Cody Nichols could start for any team in the region. I havent seen: Lewis County/Rowan County/Menifee County or Morgan County play. No stats Reported. I thought it was funny that Greenup County only reports stats for 3 players?? What is up with that? Boyd County, Fleming County and Russell do not have a duo that could make the top 15. Where will T. Knipp be playing next year?

Congratulations to Johnny Bush. He is a very energetic player and seems to be a even better kid off the floor, as the award shows.

I personally have no problem with Rose Hill. Just speaking the truth. By the way, Success is ranked by High School Regional Championships, not 7th and 8th grade championships.:thumb: Good luck to Rose Hill, they have a good bunch of players.

You might be right on that season. I believe that was the first year after OJ, King, Dawson and Gillum was gone. The only thing I would question is, how did Maynard lead the area in scoring when Rose Hill only averaged 38 pts a game that season? Also, I thought Gillum's Junior year was his biggest and that season would had been his Junior year I believe. Uncle Jed could you post the other years of the 10?

Young and IF are the two main words here. I for one would like to see these young men stay at Rose Hill and finish their career there. Could someone name the top scorers each season for Rose Hill for the last 10 yrs? I would probably go out on the edge and say the leading scorer each year was a Sophomore or below, and probably did not graduate from Rose Hill.

Yes, it was the jump ball. If you would have gotten a picture from the Boyd side you would have clearly seen the reach, but that is fine, that happens. I was sitting at the opposite end of the Boyd side and clearly saw it. I thought the funniest one was when the one Ref called goaltending on Boyd, then gave the ball back to Rose Hill. Now that is sharp. The worst part is Boyd didnt know any different for a while. I guess they thought it was "Make it-Take it" Night.:thumb:

You guys are too funny. I hate to see what you think after you play a aggressive team. Trust me, there was fair amount of pushing going around, but you guys only show the pictures you wanna see and talk about the plays you wanna play. You have a good team, possibly great in years to come, so just enjoy the win and quit whining.:thumb:
