When i left the game with about 4 minutes left, Holmes was up 8 points, Colerain matched up with Holmes and both teams used a lot of players, Rice was very impressive and he has taken over in pratice as the leader, Coston did not come into the game until late but hit back to back 3"s , Palmer also hit a couple of 3"s, Engelman had a lot of rebounds, It seems Holmes will be very deep at guard but after Rice and Knox, Holmes becomes very small, should be another exciting year to watch the Dogs.

Any scores from last nights action? I know Ockerman 6th grade boys lost to CC and the 8th grade Ockerman team won big. Not sure about the 7th grade game.

Holmes and Colerian changed to 5pm at Holmes because of middle school games.

Congrats to Dave, who has been involved with the program for many years, this is a good hire as the players have much respect for Coach Mumm.

The Holmes vrs Walton game is now at 2pm , Holmes will scrimmage next Saturday at Holmes at 1pm.

Timmy King Boone County was a very good running back, had he not tore his acl his senior year he was going to play big time D1 ball.

Holmes will scrimmage Walton on November 12th at 12pm at Walton. And Colerian on November 19th ,time tbt. The game is at Holmes, i guess it is the Listerman connection.

Ockerman 8th grade boys play at 6:30 Friday and I believe 5 on Sat. Anybody have any other game times for this weekend?

Rice for Holmes

Sure hope the young man from New Cath is ok. I was at the game and how anyone can say it was a cheap shot is amazing to me, there was a pill up for an on side kick and infortunatly the young man seemed to be on the bottom of the pile, and as for Holmes kicking it onside, that is what they did most of the night, they struggle with kicking game, why would anyone want the Holmes team to stop playing, Holmes coach is a class person and was nealing along side the the New Cath Player , as Holmes players was on the sidelines, i do not post much, but to say Holmes showed no class is crazy and this team, amoung officials does not have a reputation of cheap shots, i thing the un sportsman like penatlys were about even i remember, a play being well over and a New Cath player plowing into a Holmes player and received a 15 yard penalty, New Cath has a tradition, is a class program and always well coached in ever sport, just please dont call the young men from Holmes cheap shots if you was not out their in the pile up for the kick.

I agree that Knox is out of position, i actually thought Holmes was going to recover the bad snap in the end zone and win 2-0, i do know that one of the starting lineman didnt evenplay football last year, they also have a new head coach and many new assistant coaches, it is good to see that there are about 50 players on the roster though, should beat Pendelt on and maybe Harrison, but will be very long night against Highland and Cov Cath, just a bad for year for the class changes for Holmes, they have a very tuff schedule with New Cath coming up already played Beechwood, of course Cov Cath and Highlands, they play Cooper next week, that might be a decent game, Simon Kenton is also young at a few positions, especially Qb and center, i thought they would just give up on the long snap last night and go under center, give both teams credit they played very hard and good luck to both teams, also someone had posted number 74 did not play that is correct and he is a freshman, Holmes will get better.

This could be a low scoring game, Holmes defense was impressive against Beechwood , Holmes has to find a way to get the ball in Petersons hands more, will go with Holmes in a close physcial game.

Holmes wins 19 to 13, Scott had the ball on the one inch line and was not able to score in the 4th quarter, Holmes ran the kick off back 72 yard to start the 2nd half.

He is a very talented player, however he missed the entire season and as off a couple weeks ago he was still not cleared to go full speed. I am guessing he will start out playing frosh, and play a lot of jv. Boone is pretty deep at the guard position.

They have a pretty good center coming up in Nolan Brossart sp? He was a freshman last year and broke his collar bone mid season, he is around 6'5 with real good hands and moves his feet really well. If he decides to keep playing basketball he will see some varsity time next year.

Congrats to Holmes and Covington Catholic, Covington Catholic will be a hard first round game for someone. BJ Coston may be the key for Holmes in the regional, he may be the best outside shooter Holmes has had in a long time and he is only a Sophmore, both teams played hard is this great rival, good luck to both teams, i also thought Gray was a great choice for tournement MVP.

KR Sports with Kevin and Randy will be doing the semi- and finals in the regional, they will either be on 1160 or 1050 am.

This game is still on for tonight.

Gray 6th won by about 10 or so, 7th grade Gray won pretty handily, and 8th grade Ockerman won by about 15 or so.

Holmes played well, Hayes did not play much in the first half as he picked up two quick fouls, Palmer did a nice job runnning the Point, Gray was on again tonight as West had no answer for him. Holmes could not pull away and West shot the ball well from three point land.

Yes, game is OFF, will play tomorrow night.
