  1. Are you from Lexington. I believe Lexington schools have made the decision to not play X or T until forced to in the playoffs.
  2. Keep telling yourself that will be the case. Both T & X are Senior dominated teams every year. Both had strong second team players this past season made up primarily of Juniors that got alot of playing time at the end of Varsity games and in JV games. They are already back in the weightroom getting ready for next season.
  3. The semifinals were basically the real finals. Trinity won the Catholic title, SK won the Public title and then Trinity won the overall title. If you don't want to figure out a way to compete, then second place is all you are ever going to get. Same holds true in life.
  4. The Marshall Center at Trinity is better than alot of colleges. It is State of the art. Not only does it support the football team, but all sports programs under the guidance of Bob Maddox. Trinity has been the National Power Lifting Champion for like 5 straight years as well under Bob's guidance. The 2009 Football Rocks went back to work yesterday lifting to capture #20 titles and 5 in a row!
  5. Nolan has always been about the team. He works as hard as any of the kids and played alot of minutes as a Junior on JV last season. On the Varsity however, Trinity just had more talented kids at the running back position, Tim Phillips got most of the carries the past three years and Xavier Thomas a Junior was his immediate backup. Everyone who knows the Higgins family was excited to see Nolan carry the rock Saturday night. We were chanting Nolan, Nolan, Nolan! He didn't dissapoint any of us and was all smiles after the game. He'll remember that game the rest of his life.
  6. Trinity generally does not dress Freshman for Varsity games. Once the Freshman season is over, the kids that decide they want to continue to play next season hit the weightroom. There have been a couple recent exceptions, Jordan Whiting and Travis Bishop both dressed and played some Varsity games as Freshman on special teams.
  7. It's my understanding that Trinity which is already playing Cincy X in Cincy, tentitively had agreements with Elder and Colerain for next year. But due to all needing home games, they were not able to reach a final agreement. I am sure Manual will play them at Manual Stadium. The only reason Trinity played Cincy X at Papa Johns this season was due to the power outage that hit the city this past fall.
  8. Nolans a great kid that worked his butt off for the team. He was glowing after the game as were his parents. They understand the concept of team!
  9. Yes there are 100 kids on T & X's team. Out of this number, approximately 45-50 play on the two deep roster or special teams every Friday night. Granted the second team does not generally see the field until well into the 3rd and 4th quarter when the game has been decided, but they take advantage of every snap they get. These 50 players are primarily Juniors and Seniors that have waited their turn in line. The rest of the team is made up of Sophomores and Juniors that are not Varsity starters but get plenty of work in practice and playing JV games. Every kid works to the best of their ability everyday in practice and getting that ring is their payoff. Coach Beatty while talking to the team after the State game Saturday night commented that this was a total team effort and thanked every kid for their hard work and commitment. Trinity can't continue to win championships without sophomores and juniors pushing everyday for their chance to play. I know this because I have a Junior doing just that. That's the big difference between private and public schools. Next seasons team began their push for 20 State titles and 5 in a row yesterday in the weightroom. This seasons juniors will be next seasons seniors and will make up another senior dominated starting lineup. There will be 40-50 soon to be sophomores pushing for their chance to get their first ring. 20-30 years from now, they will meet at a reunion and remember what they did as a team to win that State title. I wouldn't want it any other way. :thumb:
  10. Trinity will lose a Senior laiden team like every year especially on defense. I suspect they will be just fine. :dancingpa
  11. Tim Phillips is not only the best back in the State, he's pure class.
  12. We would love to play Moeller, Colraine, X, Elder, bring them on!
  13. I checked with our athletic office about open dates Thursday. We still need at least 3 games. If Highlands wants to visit Trinity next season, we'll be glad to have you. Why don't you let them know this is available.
  14. Trinity has played Cincinnati X two straight years, beating them this year. We play them again next season. Elder was also on the schedule but the game was cancelled due to needing home games for both sides. T plays Moehler as well on Freshman and JV level every year.
  15. I'm curious why T fans were sitting on the SK side to begin with. As I said in another post, all teams have some bad fans. Don't judge an entire program on a few idiots.
  16. But it would be fun to play the best of the other Classes especially 5A just to see where they rate. T played Bowling Green this year and I believe they are on the schedule again next season. They played T closer than anyone other than X.
  17. The Trinity student section was at the other end of the stadium opposite the score board. I am sure if this took place it was some low class fans that unfortunately every team has. As a Trinity parent, we were all concerned about the kid. I was on the field after the game and instead of congratulating my son first, I sought out a SK coach to see if he was ok. I was told then that it was a concussion. As far as the team taking a knee, I noticed the Trinity kids that were on the side line did take a knee for this. The ones that were playing took a knee for a short while, but it was a cold night and they were in the heat of battle and I assume they stood up and stretched to keep from cramping or to stay loose. I don't feel this was disrespectful.
  18. I wish we could play Highlands next season. Trinity has openings to fill. Have your athletic director contact Dennis Lampley ASAP. That would be fun.
  19. I can't say I would go if my team didn't make it. With the games in Louisville, you have a better chance of attracting more public school kids looking for something to do on the weekend. Bowling Green, I am afraid they will not draw half the crowds as Louisville.
  20. Congratulations Deuce. Trinity will not miss you!
  21. footsand, Central has 3 kids on the All State Team. All 3 will sign D1 scholarships. Would this be the cass if they weren't playing in 3A.
  22. RowdyRedRam, I think Manual is on Trinity's schedule next year. That's good news. I wish we could play Male, in addition to Ballard and Eastern every year. I also miss playing DeSales and Holy Cross. As far as Trinity's staff, they have 7 coaches for Freshman, 5 are alumni and all are volunteer. They have one coaching staff for Varsity and JV. I believe 4 are full time teachers, 6 are volunteers, with 3 of them being alumni as well. Trinity's JV is made up of Sophomores and Juniors that do not start for the Varsity club. They do not practice as a seperate unit to prepare for JV games. On JV game day, they simply use around 5 of the Varsity coaches to run offense and defense and special teams for the game. Trinity has always had a Senior dominated starting Varsity team. JV just gets the next kids in line reps to prepare for their Senior season.
