Greenup County- Adam "Bird" Tackett, Steve Skaggs and Jimmy Tackett in that order. Russell- Rick Hensley nobody else come's close.

Greenup don't have the Athletes to run the spread offense to pass every play. At Raceland they have Tyler Farley at QB for the next two years(already knows the system and the players around him.). Farley is just as good as QB as Rister is, if not better. Raceland didn't pass every other play, they had two players that went over thousand yards rushing(Bret Denton and John Scott Carver). Next year they will have Cody Kelly back and a transfer coming in to help with the rushing game. I don't see Mason leaving. He's at the right spot at the right time and all he has to do is work hard to be seen for the next level. Also I wouldn't just limit myself to just one offense. When a coaching change happens you're going to hear kids wanting to transfer but the best thing for kids is to stay put and try to build a program. Working through though time's, college coach's look at that and that's what coach's want to build a program around!

Sorry you took it the wrong way. I read and re-read my previous posts and nowhere, and I mean nowhere, did I name call one time. It is just my opinion that I agree to disagree about your opinion. And that is just my opinion, not reflective of anyone elses opinion.

Just how long must we "Wait and see"? That is the problem as a whole in Greenup. Maybe, just maybe if we wait long enough things will change on their own.....not. I know the turf is in the distant future, but I was just making a point about the logistics of having everything in one place. And since you dont want to be argumantative, I suggest you go ahead and have your "crow for dinner yourself.

Give it a rest guys, seriously. There is a ton of land at the high school to be used still. There is more than enough room at the practice field to make 2 fields side by side. And in the future if there was ever a turf field.....the JFL could make the high school practice field into a nice complex while the high school practiced and played on the turf. Another plus to all of this, is that all of the money generated at the high school from the middle schools and JFL, wiould ultimately help all of the programs. You would not be funneling money into 3 or 4 locations, just the one.

You say that combining will divide? Maybe being divided for so long is what is killing us at the high school level. They will have to play together sooner or later, may as well be sooner imho. I wish that they had one central middle school, but thats not the case. And that your kids go to Raceland further solidifies my point about the fact that you must not live here or have kids in the system. Anyone who goes against this will have some selfish motive, be it not wanting the program as a whole to succeed, or some other reason.

So, if I may ask, where are the people who oppose this actually from? I can't imagine you are from Greenup County. If you were, the only reason to oppose this would be for selfish reasons and not for the kids that are involed as a team. Why in the world would you not want your kids to play together for 6 years instead of only 4? The thing to remember is, that the logistic thing has no validity. One central location means easier commutes, less driving for the parents. Sure it will be difficult to change, but change is never easy. If I were the new coach coming in, this would be a no brainer. Why wouldn't I want to see all the up and coming kids on a daily basis and have input to how they are being prepared for the next level? As to who would the coach be, It could be the 2 middle school coaches and their staffs working together(the more coaches the better). This will give the coaches more one on one and more specialized coaching opportunities.(defensive coach coaching only defense and so on)

I doubt the others would be combining since it takes alot less kids to make up a team. I have just heard rumors about the football program at this time. Seems to me the football program is the only one in such need of a change. The tavel issues would in fact, be easier to overcome since the schools have a "no kid left behind" policy, so shuttles would run between the 2 schools. The practice facility would in theory be at the high school. You would be able to have kids that would not normally come out for football due to travel reasons come out. This would even help out the non driving Freshmen and Sophomores parents, as they would only have to travel to the middle school closest to them instead of the high school.

With any luck the equipment will/should go to the middle school program(s). I hear the middle schools may be combining efforts into making one 7th and one 8th grade Greenup County team next year. I think everyone who supports this (as they should to progress), should show their support at the next board meeting on December 22nd. I think that if we want to build a winning program in Greenup County, this feeder program should be our first priority.

This is a very true statement that the boys need to be in the weightroom right now! Are they going to painting the new weightroom, moving equipment or cleaning? If so let me know.
