Team B receives 2 free throws and the ball. 2. Team B receives 2 free throws but Team A gets the ball back since they had it when the technical foul was called.

I don't believe that the 8th is any tougher than the 12th region. Mercer gave Anderson everything that they wanted earlier in the year. There's not much to crow about for either region, IMO.

I doubt it and they shouldn't. I would say that PRP's second string JV players are better than Portland Christian's 1st string varsity. That is why the score is what it is.

I'd have to say that it is WIDE open. Lincoln, Mercer, Garrard, West and East Jessamine, McCreary Central and Southwestern all look like they could win the region. I didn't include Wayne and Burgin because of their lack of depth.

IMO, the 12th is pretty weak. We have a couple of good officials but the majority are spotty. Scott Bottoms and Tony Gray are the top with a big gap between the next level. This officiating association is full of politics and "who you know" tactics.

OK, you win. You take McCloud and I'll take Cinnamon in a 3 point contest and let's see who wins.

I have no beef with McCloud and do not dispute that he is a hard worker and a team player and yes he made a couple of threes but how many did he miss and how many turnovers did he have? My point is this, would you as a coach rather have your best outside shooter taking 3 point shots or would you rather have your 7th or 8th man off the bench taking these shots? BTW, I asked one of the coaches last night how tall he is and he said that Mathew is 5'7 to 5'8 and Cinnamon is 6'2 although the PA announcer listed him as 6'1.

I have yet to McCreary Central play but I am surprised that Wayne beat them. I would really be surprised if Wayne wins the region due to their lack of depth. I saw them play Mercer and the only reason why Wayne got beat was their lack of depth. They have a solid starting 5 but little else on the bench. Foul trouble and running out of gas could sorely hurt this team in a tight game.

The official listing for Andrew McCloud's brother who plays football at WKU is 5'8. He is not any taller than his brother and we know how college teams like to exagerrate a players hieght. Cinnamon is a good 6'2 but could be 6'3. You do the math. 34 Andrew McCloud RB 5-8 195 Jr. HARRODSBURG, KY

Possibly, but I doubt it. I was sitting in the Burgin section and they were laughing about the bad calls that were made against Mercer. The 3 man crew consisted of Doug Coulter, Dwight Carmike and ex official John Drake's son. Doug Coulter is a good official who has been around a long time and did a very good job. Carmike has a long ways to go to be a top official but is good enough not to miss or make the bad calls that he did on Saturday night. Drake missed a blatant palming call that led to 2 easy points for Burgin in the last 2 minutes of the game and then came back down the court and told Mercer's coach that he just "missed it". Overall, the game was not badly officiated, just the last 3 or 4 minutes. Burgin's team hustled and played to win the entire game. Kudos to them. Mercer had no consistency to their offense until the 4th quarter which IMO was due to 3 things. Mercer not coming out with intensity, Taylor getting 2 fouls on him in the first quarter and weird substitutions.

It takes a lot of guts and hard work to coach at schools like Burgin and Augusta. Watching him on the sidelines you can tell that he thouroughly enjoys the game and coaching. Good win for him and his players!

Granted, he did hit one big 3 pointer but I think that it is fair to say that he was around 2 for 6 from 3 point land and had at least 3 turnovers. Question is this: Who would you rather have on the court, McCloud or Cinnamon? Cinnamon is 6'3, a better shooter, driver and rebounder. McCloud is 5'7 and maybe handles the ball better but does put out maximum effort. By the way, I am not saying that he shouldn't be playing but he shouldn't be jacking up shots like DeAndre Liggins and playing in front of Cinnamon.

Your right about Cinnamon and McCloud. However, McCray and Dedmon can both bring the ball up the court. I was also very impressed with Compton's performance. I really never saw that coming. His hustle was definately a major factor in Mercer's comeback. I hope to see more of him in the future.

No excuses with me. The truth is that Mercer played a kid who had hardly played much this year in favor of their 2nd best player and that the refs made 3 critical incorrect calls in the last minute of the game. Quit hiding out at Corning and go to the games. At that point you can make your own analysis about what happened.
