  1. I am sure that Coach P would like to schedule Trimble County (20. Trimble Co. 20.5, Class A). Could be a good game for the Colonels & Coach P, would really get them ready for the 4A playoffs. The Colonels wins speak for themselves. The Colonels beat Pendelton County last season, but lost to Franklin County. Finished 3rd last season and with out the addition of Holmes they would again be 3rd. However on a positive note the Colonels have rushed for a lot of yards and almost beat Harrison County. 26. Estill Co. 27.3 (Class AAA) 33. Casey Co. 4.9 (Class AAA) 26. Owen Co. 17.4 (Class AA) 24. Franklin Co. 39.9 (Class AAAA)
  2. Like all the other games Bourbon has played all year, if they can control the style of play they win. If they allow Malcolm Thomas to get in space and make plays the Breds win. Two key questions are: Can Bourbon run it against the Breds and can they stop the pass? I believe this week the answer to both questions are yes. But that is why they play the game.
  3. Congrats as well to Taylor Barnes. He plays hard and as stated above the offense has no balance so teams stack it up and still have trouble containing him. Good Luck on the remainder of the season!!
  4. Very true, but the question is the Emperor Marcus Aurelius or Nero.
  5. Blocked punt returned for TD, fumble on the kickoff & personal fouls were what did Colonels in, deja vu.
  6. It looked to me like they ran his legs off, I know he had to carry it 30+ times. The only passes I saw were in the last 2 series of the game.
  7. Bourbon Co. 35 Grant Co. 21 If Grant can throw the ball then it could be a game, as Bourbon struggles to get a pass rush and in coverage.
  8. Colonels exposed v. Mason Co. for their lack of team speed. The Barnes kid ran the ball extremely hard, but the Colonels have no balance offensively and were not able to control the ball in order to keep the Royals off the field. So if Holmes can throw the football effectively and keep the Colonels ground game under wraps, looks like a tough game for the Colonels. If the Colonels can keep the ball 28-30 min., eliminate penalities and turnovers they can have a chance, otherwise look for long night.
  9. I don't know about outcome of the game, as it will be a battle of two different offensive attacks, but I am sure that the Barnes kid can play & he will have success and compete no matter the level of competition.
  10. If Bourbon can compete with Mason County then they can arguably compete in their district; this week's game is a true measuring stick. Can the Colonels defend against a team that will give them a balanced attack or will they just beat teams that play the same style football as was played in "Leatherheads". Colonels should be able to run the ball on most teams they play this season. The question is can the Colonels pass the football enough to keep teams honest.
  11. What's important is whether Bourbon improves in their district. You come in third/fourth in district still in same boat.
  12. With both teams running the ball 95% of time, both teams may be able to hit cedar village before it closes.
  13. Bourbon Co. plays Casey Co. week # 2, it should be a good test for both teams.
  14. The whole staff, minus the two named above are coming back? Who will coach each position?
  15. That is a pretty fast transition. Will Poynter begin teaching at Bourbon County this semester?
