It seems the pressure of this game falls in the lap of Desales. Monroe is not expected to win against the Juggernaut that Is Drsales. This class of players is 19 seniors strong. Last year was a huge injury year and everyone but one is healthy this year. We lost OL Justin Coffelt to a knee. Most of these young men have started since they were sophomores. Are they super studs? No. Are they talented? Very. We have 9 players voted to sky conference them. I would say that other small schools in the south see the talent here. But the question at hand about nothing to lose...Monroe does not have the heavy burden of being put out by a lot lower seed. If they win its an upset to mass proportion. They knocked off the two time defending champions!!!! Then they get payback to Cal for eighth grade loss at state finals by one touchdown.

Glasgow is very young. New coach. Should be a good season for them next year. Cal is good, really good. Of course I am rooting for our District, but I am sometimes a little delusional!!!!! Go Scotties....

This is the week the seniors realize this could be it. Last week is a give me for a lot of teams. Round two you get some high stake games. Two time defending champions Desales is traveling way down south to Monroe in hopes of getting back to Cal next week. A lot on the line for them. This is a dangerous game for them because Monroe has nothing to lose or prove. Only the locals think they have a chance. I am sure there are these kind of games all over the state!!!!! Safe travels to all that are headed out of region with there teams.....

If this was last years Desales team or even the year before I would not give Monroe a chance. But according to your stats and films I would give this a 50/50 shot at Tompkinsville. Its tough to travel here and dominate a team that has nothing to lose. Desales is the heavy favorite and is the two time defending state champion, so I would say the pressure is all on them. We are definately not thinking about CAL next week and Mayfeild the next. We are focused on an upset. one game at a time. And I agree with over the top fans...sometimes they can rub people the wrong way! Especially people that truly believe in their teams!!!!!!

I am that FAN!!! I only hope that Desales sees the Monroe we all know exists. Confidence and optimism is a downfall my wife says I am full of...along with some slight expletives. I believe in this team. I believe in these coaches. I believe in this program. And I truly believe in this community that loves Friday night football!!!! It will not be an easy round two for the brothers from the North!!!!! But I do hope for safe travels and good sportsmanship. I want to see your best as well as ours. If we fall short then it is just that. But at least we went down with no regrets. I am pretty sure we will be hosting CAL next Friday though!!!!!! Go Roe Go!!!!!!

Should be a very good night of smash mouth football. Looking forward to hosting Desales and seeing what our Falcons are made of. We have seen better defenses this year in Bg and Wayne. So should be fun to watch. I love defensive games. I would be fine with single digit game. Just not sure it will be that lopsided. Could be....just not convinced! See you guys Friday.

There was a ton of penalties in our game with green as well. The officiating crew must follow the Dragons!

First off I want to it my hat to a very well mannered Shawnee group. Theses kids endured a three hour bus ride to the Deep South of Ky to play the hungry Falcons. These young men know how to face diversity. They put their pads on every week hoping they can pull out a win. Year after year they keep on playing this game we all love. You guys have my respect! Good fun game for the Falcons. They looked like they actually enjoyed themselves tonight with the Varsity taking care of business and then them cheering for their underclass men the rest of the night. They ran the clock early in the second. Another big shout for senior Maverick Clemer. Way to go getting your first varsity touchdown, way to stay the course young man!... Way to go Falcons, now pull up your socks and get ready for Desales!

DesalesDad....Green County has a lot of grit just not very deep at skilled positions. They showed some really good offensive sets when they played us that they had not used in any film we got. Good luck, and see you next Friday if all goes the way we both want!!!!

Great break down Purple Nation. The Purples will be very tough to knock off this year and will be even harder next year. I look for another back to back from them. Go Purples!!!

What you may not realize about North Hardin is that we sat out a lot of key players for district. The jv players played very well against a 6a school. Franklin Simpson was after two major linemen injuries on the offense and a schematic change for different looks. That one should have been a win. We dropped the ball on that one. I'm not saying we are Mayfield. We are not 2a battle tested but we have had a brutal schedule. Wayne county would beat most 2a schools in the state and Monroe went toe to toe with them. I am looking forward to Friday night. It all begins. Season 2!!!!

Would it surprise a lot of people if Monroe makes it to war memorial? Yes....me, no way. I believe in this season and these young men! Monroe went to Wayne County Friday and showed the boys in 4a that this little school can hit, and play four quarters like the big boys!!! Should be very fun in two weeks. But Shawnee is going to see them first!!!
