Shame it couldn’t be a little warmer for tonight’s scrimmages.

This Friday BE will travel to Ballard for what has become their annual scrimmage. Ballard ended the Chargers season in the first round of the playoffs in convincing fashion. Last week Ballard stumbled out of the gate in a scrimmage against St. X. while East traveled to Bardstown for a rather (uncontrolled) controlled scrimmage that neither team seemed to get a lot out of. The Chargers need this scrimmage before they head into a difficult week 1 vs Boyle.

Yeah, I'm not sure I would evaluate it the same. But whatever. If the two teams played in a month or so during the regular season I'm confident that the Chargers would win by a couple of scores. But that is obviously just my opinion.

The Chargers travel to Bardstown this Friday to scrimmage the Tigers. Finally getting to hear some pads popping against different teams and I'm glad the start of the season is finally here. Hearing that the Tigers will have to replace a lot of guys up front on both sides of the ball and that's what the Chargers happen to bring back this season. The best player on the Chargers defense has to be Baron Hardesty who is a DE who holds a few low D1 offers. He is the programs all time sack leader with his entire Sr season yet to be played. The Chargers have a lot skill position talent to replace but do return their starting QB from last year. I don't know a lot about Bardstown but I do look forward to seeing some live action this Friday in Bardstown.

I think they have a good shot to make a really deep run also.

Boyle has a secondary field that was the school's soccer field in its origins. It is natural grass, has bleachers and concessions. When Boyle went turf several years ago now, that field became the JV and freshman field when the turf was occupied by Varsity soccer. It is also where Boyle's track is. I agree with TBC above, the origin of this thread was that I had no idea that there were many dedicated middle school football fields in general, much less that they were turf. I find that impressive.

Question for the membership. How many middle schools are there with their own turf football field? Are there a lot of them? Saw a post on twitter about this and I seriously didn't realize there was any. Not a judgement or criticism. Just wondering how many schools have them.

During my Sr. year at Boyle Co., we made the switch from film to video tape. Literally right in the middle of the season. While watching the very first game that video was used in the first couple of minutes there was a very loud, very shrill womans screaming telling us to tackle, to block, and to run etc.. It was hard to listen to and was very annoying. Coach Ed Rall stated that he hadn't thought the sound being captured and wondered aloud if it was possible in the coming games to record without the sound so we wouldn't have to listen to this woman. After a couple of minutes of discussion some little sophomore who would never see the field except in scrub time, for his entire career, simply got up and walked to the big TV and turned the volume down. Coach Rall after saying how embarrassed he was to not think of that told the young man he would be skipping sprints for the next week. The shrill voice btw, was my mother. I knew from the first scream exactly who it was but only confessed to Coach Rall about it after the season.

Was referring to individual game stats. The ones linked on the team schedules next to the game scores. They have been removed from all 2024 team schedules.

Anyone know why the KHSAA scoreboard not show no stats for 2024? Did I miss something?

Bullitt East is in pool play with PT, Bay (Fla), and Powell (TN). I know PT is good, don't know a thing about the team from Fla. or Tn.

Ok, that makes sense. I assumed everyone starts pool play pretty much the same time. But that would make sense. Good luck.

How does it change anything? They are either coming or not.

Don't blame them and no real issue with them starting to charge. But if I'm paying it needs to be much more intuitive and easier to navigate. Basically saying the same thing as @theguru. Just using fewer sentences.
