Both of these Bullitt County teams enter this week with identical 0-2 records. East barely showed up against Boyle in week, before playing much better but ultimately coming up just a hair short against 2024 4A runner up Franklin County. North's 2 losses come from a trip to Stanford against Garrard County then getting ran by a good North Oldham team. East really blew a golden opportunity against Franklin but I know they had to be pleased with that effort as compared to the Boyle opening week loss. They should more than handle business this coming Friday but they still have Manual, Central, Male and Fern Creek on the schedule so they use the next couple of weeks to work on the things they are not doing well. North, unfortunately, is on their 5th coach in the last 4 seasons. (no, that is not a typo). They played Garrard well for a half but have had little else to celebrate. They do have a pretty good player at QB and seem to give good effort but numbers are down and it will probably be a long night come Friday.

Biggest surprise of the game for me was the Pulaski sideline. Unless I counted wrong I only saw about 45 or 46 players. With Coach Burns taking over and finding success fairly quickly I just expected to see a bigger 5A team.

As I said in the thread, you have to take advantage of a teams miscues and Franklin did that. My comment was not to denigrate the Flyers at all. EJ teams always play hard and physical but…..man.

Congrats to FC. The last few years I’ve seen East lose some games they should have won but I think this one takes the cake. Have to capitalize on another teams mistakes and FC did that but East have this one away.
