gchs_uk9 Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 3 district road games and only 1 at home? @ChiefSmoke
Polar Bearcat Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 Looking forward to Coach Buchanon's 3rd year in Lawrenceburg. He has created lots of good vibes around the ACHS football program. The gridiron Bearcats graduated a lot of production from last years team, but AC has some talented newcomers that hope to build on the departed seniors success's. 4

We will open up at Washington Co. And, there is a possibility that we switch Woodford back to home and make Grayson away. Was a screwy year for scheduling. If we can get 5 and 5, that is fine with me. The best game we have played the last two seasons was a district road game. Our guys are working. The locker-room and weight-room have had a much needed makeover. Right now we have over 80 guys, 9 thru 12. That number typically decreases but glad to see so many kids wanting to participate right now. We have been able to get in to all 3 Elementary Schools to do a 5th grade camp. We also had one at ACMS for the 6th graders. This community has been super in making sure our guys have what they need. Our improvement is big. The mountain we are facing is big as well! But, we enjoy the challenge each day of attacking that mountain. 4
ChiefSmoke Posted March 18, 2025 Posted March 18, 2025 Yes, the sky really is that blue in Lawrenceburg, KY. Or, it just seems that way on the first day of spring football. ☀️ 1
ChiefSmoke Posted March 19, 2025 Posted March 19, 2025 We will scrimmage tomorrow. The BGPreps community is invited. Think we will start around 3:30. We have had two good days and we're making progress. Our kids and coaches really work to get better each day! #FindAWayToWin 5
ChiefSmoke Posted March 22, 2025 Posted March 22, 2025 We tried something a little different. After school, we fed our guys and then took them to Maysville to do a tour of the Underground RR. After a nice meal at DeSha's, we practiced at Mason County HS. We rolled into Lawrenceburg last night at 3 AM. I am an old guy and this one of my best HS football experiences, ever. It took alot of support & help to pull it off. Our kids & coaches responded great we had very productive work. This leaves us with 3 more practices and a spring game on Thursday! 7
ChiefSmoke Posted March 28, 2025 Posted March 28, 2025 We finished spring practice yesterday with a red-white scrimmage. We went Top 22, Best Offense, Best Defense, and then gave the depth some reps. It was a productive spring. Spring football practice is one of the few things in place that helps the have nots more than the haves. It was big at both Mason & Mercer. We don't make near the improvement at either place without it. It is having the same impact at Anderson as well. The Maysville trip was a great addition. We will try to do it every 3 years so all of our guys get that experience. We have a couple ideas for trips the next couple years. We are getting better. Hopefully the results reflect that improvement sooner than later. 4
ChiefSmoke Posted April 10, 2025 Posted April 10, 2025 Our guys enjoy these weighted vests from Omorpho. They are becoming more common at the collegiate & professional level. Both Ohio St. & the Eagles purchased sets prior to winning their titles this past season. We saw them at AFCA, January of 2024. Have been pleased w/ the purchase. a4ac91705ef4490aafce2b429ee1d6fb.mp4 3
