This Friday BE will travel to Ballard for what has become their annual scrimmage.  Ballard ended the Chargers season in the first round of the playoffs in convincing fashion.  

Last week Ballard stumbled out of the gate in a scrimmage against St. X. while East traveled to Bardstown for a rather (uncontrolled) controlled scrimmage that neither team seemed to get a lot out of.   The Chargers need this scrimmage before they head into a difficult week 1 vs Boyle.

    All reports so far, Ballard is a mess.

    Should be OK skill-wise, but they did lose A LOT on the lines.

    Interested to see what BE will do here and against Boyle County.

    Shame it couldn’t be a little warmer for tonight’s scrimmages.

    BE starts terribly going 3 and out losing 8 yards. Ballard begins first offensive series on BE 49

    After 3 first downs the Bruins settle for a 32 yard fg.

    BE struggling offensively. Almost all of their yardage so far is by way of penalty. Ballard takes over on own 30. Start if 2nd.

    Broken coverage for BE. TD pass straight down the middle of the field with nobody within 20 yards of receiver

    BE defense stiffened up after Ballards first drive and the busted coverage WIDE open 70 TD pass. 

    The story is the Chargers inability to move the ball against Ballards D. I give Ballards D some credit, but the Chargers O has not looked good.

    BE picks off the Ballard attempt on 3rd and long. Chargers take over on Ballard 44.  7:25 3rd.
