To be honest Boyle most of the time wishes teams will try to get outside on them. If they focus on that it plays right into their hands. They love teams that try to go outside.

He did mention Bell !?!

They will probably see one if Boyle and Bell get to the Semi's. Boyle held Danville to negative yards rushing tonight.

Just got home from the game. The difference was on the front line. Boyle was much more physical even though they were smaller across the front on both sides of the ball. Grey for D-ville is very talented and so is Simone. Something else that I noticed was that the Danville offense seemed out of sorts all night. I watched the game from the Danville sideline and there was many conversations with players coming off the field about whether or not everyone was in the right position or knew what pass route to run and those kinda things. Boyle defense probably had a lot to do with that. Danville actually did not play terrible. They had a couple of turnovers and their punting game put their defense in terrible position all night. Both teams are talented and will hopefully represent the community well in Nov.

83,84,85,86. 0-4 against Danville. Really sucked. Thanks for bringing this up Hatz.

Oldballcoach, We agree on most things on this board so I always pay attention to what you have to say, but if Danville wins by 2 td's I'll eat your old coach's whistle.

I also hate the rule. By the way Boyle's 8th team was called for a 15 yard personal "horsecollar" tackle two weeks ago. I think it was just the crew's ignorance because I looked it up after I got home and it is not a rule this year. I also informed our coaches that it is currently not a rule so they can argue and pull out a rule book next time.

I could be wrong, because I've only seen Danville in a scrimmage but I would be suprised if Boyle doesn't win by 2 or 3 touchdowns. Of course I didn't think the Giants had a prayer against the Pats last year so I guess that's why you lace them up and play the game. I just think Boyle has a much better chance of stopping D-ville's offense than D-ville defense has of stopping Boyle's. Danville's "D" hasn't been consistent so far this year. Much better week 2 compared to week 1 but still not consistent. Just my opinion.

French wanted to stay at Lincoln but the leadership at Lincoln could care less about athletics. Quarterback club support, charter busses to away games, control of middle school program, more assistant coaches, etc........ He asked for just a little of what Boyle's program offers it's players and head coach and was given NOTHING. His wife is from Lincoln county. He still lives in Lincoln county. Lincoln High principal and board of education blew it. Coach French was at Meade county for like 13 years. Don't tell me Meade's talent kept him around. He did not bolt Lincoln because of the players he had coming back. That is an unfair statement.

I think Grey is a very good QB and I have enjoyed watching him play the last three years but I just don't see how Danville will be able put many points on the board against this defense. I have to give the edge to Boyle 28-14.

I think the vote is going the way it is because the Rebel Defense against Madison Central and Warren Central looked like the Chuck Smith defenses of old. I worry about Henry Clay's speed on the outside somewhat, but if they play the same game against Boyle that they did against B.G. they will lose by 2 or 3 TD's.

Mason is the starter. Hatz, don't worry, from what I've seen the Rebel's should take care of WC by 3 or 4 td's. Not promising a huge season but the first one should not be too bad.

What a terrible thing to happen. I am just sick. The thought of this young man losing his life in the sport I love more than anything else is just tragic. I feel so bad for his family and send them all of the prayers that I can.

I've seen one of their scrimmages and have watched at least one game a year for the last several. The numbers are not helping, it's just a down turn right now that a lot of teams go through. The key is keeping everything positive through the lean times as far as parent and school support and things will bounce back.

I honestly have nothing against Rockcastle but if their fans are looking for the old Rockcastle it won't come this year until very late in the season if it comes. It's just going to take more time. Solid team for sure but not the Rockcastle of old. Not yet.

I knew Boyle would be better this year but the score kinda shocks me because Central was supposed to be pretty good themselves. I expected a tighter contest.

Did the qb's split the reps or mostly Mason. Passing game better than run or both looked good?

I think it will be a season to be patient.

It is a practice with other teams. Many, many teams do this year in and year out. They don't keep score, they are not clock managed, it is well within the rules. Many teams attend this camp. "Controlled scrimmage" are the words I used to describe it but it is practice.

Just a quick note to say that I was told by 2 or 3 different people that the Boyle vs. Rockcastle controlled scrimmage went very much in favor of Boyle. FYI, one of the people who told me was a Rockcastle fan. b & g

As said by another poster, Mason has looked very good and I would be suprised if Boone's the starter against Warren. He is very talented but will need some time to learn the offense.

Actually I wouldn't say that I'm against it. I was just wondering if people do this anywhere else. If anyone out there has seen this at their high school.

Needs some young lineman to step up and grow up early. They could have a very good year but as stated above there schedule is ridiculous. Lots of very good soph's who will be called upon. Just my thoughts.
