Ugly game by Holmes. Pretty game by the BlueBirds.

Very true the score is what matters we were just giving an analysis. And yea HC needs to get therer act together or the NCC game will be ugly.

Holmes 33 Holy Cross 7
Out there two best Defensive players besides Mike Sullivan with Roenker and Herald down until the NCC game. And they scored two Defensive TD's and two of there other drives started around the HC 20. Still not an excuse for a non existent Offense.

I agree 100%. CCH doesn't return much and loses there top player Maile so anyone who says it will be just another year in the ninth is crazy. It should be a great battle for 2nd behind the Bulldogs if they play as they did last year.

Not ragging on Nikola, it's just some people are annointing him as an unstoppable force. Trust me I have seen him play I know he is a good player. I am in no way ragging. Scott does have some good returning talent though it should be interesting. Whether they are alot better than HC is over stated, we return everyone but Corey. I know thats a big loss, but we will surprise people I think.

Your darn right we got our butts handed to us. But I also know that in fact, now listen close, Lloyd did not play well, they just didn't. You are making an argument where there is none. You lost by 22 points to BW, HC(which has no reason to be brought up and frankly takes away from your arguement which holds no water what so ever) lost to Holmes by 26. I would like to start a poll and see who here on BGP can honestly say after watching the Bulldogs and there classy coach play some big time football asking if BW is alot better team than Holmes. There becomes a point when being a homer isn't even worthy of a response. :flame:

Explain this to me? How is a Maile less team with one returning starter a clear cut favorite? Especially since Shover, while I do see him as a top player in the region, has yet to feel the pressure of being a number one or even two go to guy on a team?

Lloyd lost by three touchdowns, there it is Llyod fans, argue aganist that. When you all tell me that BW kept fumbling, all that means is you can't take what is given to you. To blame the ref"s and say that only BW was swearing on the field and Lloyd is nice and wholesome and were not swearing is, well, very ignorant to say the least.

I heard Nikola was up for Mr.Basketball, is there any water behind that? But I would think Fortner and Eric Sullivan will get there share of playing time, but I think the majority of the frontline will be played by Mike Sullivan, Volpenhien, and Egan. Joe Allen is also a real nice player for the future could possibly see a little action, but most likely one year away.

I would like to say your wrong, but you aren't. It's time to pick it up they want to win some games. I will never understand the philosophy of "if it doesn't work, then keep doing it". Because that was the kind of play calling I saw yesterday. It was either a run between the tackles with RB's that without Roenker are obviously suited for the outside or it was a busted pass play where a wide open reciever was either not thrown to or over thrown. And while the defense did play bad, it is very hard to pitch a shutout when the first two drives for holmes started at the 20. And two other scores were off a blocked punt and a horrible decision on an interception to just fling the ball at the last second by Walker. I put this loss squarely on the shoulders of ball security on O and IMO some of the worst play calling I have seen in a while. No excuses, just something to think about.

Holy Cross (Covington) 2008/2009
I think that there is to much being made of Scott vs HC on this thread. I mean all I am hearing is how they will beat each other by ten plus. Let's get back on topic of HC and how they will do. Also I know I am contradicting myself but who ever it was that said Nikola will dominate Sullivan is not watching the same basketball most are watching.

Beechwood 34 Lloyd 12
All I here is excuses. I mean bottom line it was a drumming, bottom line. The score doesn't lie although some on her would like to argue that. And if anyone's arguement aganist BW is that they fumbled to much then why didn't Llyod capitalize on them?

Holmes/ Holy Cross Update
Final, very surprised, Hc came out with no intensity and aren't the team that played Conner and Scott in the preseason. If they don't get it together, it's going to be a very long season.
