Why did HC schedule this game?

No, not "as expected". What did HC do in their first 2 games to make anyone "expect" that they would blowout this team?

 

I would say "pleasantly surprised". Don't get me wrong, HC needed this performance....they stepped up and played with passion and aggression all night long. Good win against an obviously undermatched "good JV caliber team". My heart goes out to Cooper, they are playing a brutal schedule for a first year team. I hope they can all stay healthy for the entire season.

 

Now to HC...enjoy this win going into the bye week. You have 2 weeks to prepare for NC. You will need it. You have shown that you can play with passion, now you will have to show that you are not "afraid" to play the big boys.

 

Coaches will also have to show that our offense has some imagination. We are still way too predictable. Somehow we have to find a way to get our QB to actually throw the ball when receivers are standing in the end zone waving their arms...wide open.

 

Hopefully HC will be back at full strength...getting Roenker and Herald back. This will help tremendously.

HC is a varsity team expected to have a solid season and were playing - by your own admission - a very overmatched "JV caliber" team that has been completely dismantled in their first two games. Why would you not have expected an outcome like this?

Holy Cross as we all should have expected was going to win this game. Cooper will be like Ryle, Conner and Boone County in a few years - it will be a power to deal with - the area is growing and that will bring more and more talented kids to the area.

HC needs to make this the turning point of this season. If they play with the same instensity level every week from here on out....they will live up to those "expectations".

I said it before the season. Even though Roenker can do a lot of things, I think he could contribute most at the QB spot. He has the poise and discipline to make the plays and decisions. He could be used like a Tebow type QB. Plus you would have a top notch QB next year. Walker could play out of the backfield and wideout spots and contribute much more. NCC will take advantage of any mistakes and has the speed to neutralize the running ability of Walker. Not trying to slam anyone, just my observation.

Excellent point...that is just one of the many options this team could do. They have alot of offensive talent, yet the coaching staff refuses to fully utilize it. You could have a QB rotation...you could go out of the spread formation with 3 WR's...you could still go out of the power formation.

 

Mix it up...keep the defense off balance. All defenses have to do now is load the line of scrimmage to stop the run. They know what is coming.

HC just needs to pass the ball more. They have some great athletes and should use them more: Norris, Zigler, Bailey, Cooper, Sullivan, Eastin. As many people have said before on here HC should go to shotgun. I think this would help a ton against NCC.

 

I think they should use Cooper and Eastin more in the passing game. Eastin should play more WR/TE and Cooper should run more routes out of the back field. I just think they need to pass more. Using some more targets could free up Zigler, Bailey, and Norris.

It's been said countless times...

Spread the field out, HC isn't the brute team they had two years ago. They have alot of speed and athleticism. IMO I agree Andy is a smart kid and would make good decisions, Walker could add to the surplus of wide outs. But, we just have to put trust in to the QB they chose.
