  1. Take that back, Glasgow beat Allen Co.-Scottsville. 1-0. Region 4 is turned upside down. WOW
  2. Final in district championship. Wow. Some district winner will draw a very unhappy Greenwood team. And it might be Allen Co.-Scottsville. Wow.
  3. Not always, but both coaches this late in the season decided to in the pregame mtg. Central played Marshall County right after this game and took one hard to the chin. The heat took its toll on the storm.
  4. Pitcher's duel at Storm Field. Game was tied at 1 after 7 and went to the international tiebreaker. Neither team scored in the 8th. Central had a dropped throw to first on a bunt that allowed the winning run to score for Reidland.
  5. 1. Allen County-Scottsville-Region 4 (28-3) 2. Greenwood -Region 4 (30-4) 3. Ballard - Region 7 (27-4) 4. Mercy - Region 7 (27-5) 5. Green County - Region 5 (30-3) 6. Christian County - Region 2 (24-5) 7. Scott County - Region 11 (27-6-1) 8. Owensboro Catholic - Region 3 (23-10-1) 9. Male - Region 7 (23-10-1) 10. Assumption Region 7 (28-6-1)
  6. Congrats, she is a very good player. Hope they make it back to state tournament.
  7. They were both pool play games in 2 different tournaments. Most pool play games are stopped after a certain amount of time if they are not completed. In both cases, the score was 4 to 4. One was in Owensboro at the sportswarehouse classic, which is the tournament put on by Owensboro Catholic and the other was the Raincatcher put on by Hopkins Co. Central. The pool play rules state after time has run out, they will not start another inning. The two ties were with Louisville Male and Gibson Southern, Indiana.
  8. Greenwood improves to 30-4. They will give ACS all they want in region 4.
  9. The Storm improve to 21-9-2 while MC has a record of 21-13.
  10. Yes, they are just north of Evansville. Just a little over an hour away from our school.
  11. Calloway County defeated Hopkins County Central 4-2 in the first game. Gibson Southern defeated Louisville Eastern 2-0 in game 2. Third place game Hopkins County Central defeated Eastern 7 to 0. Gibson Southern wins the tournament over Calloway County 9 to 2.
  12. Pool Play group A. Hopkins Co. Central 6 to 5 over Heath. Gibson Southern 2 Heath 0. Hopkins Co. Central and Gibson Southern 4-4 tie after 6. Stopped due to time limit. Pool Play group B. Livingston Central 6 Calloway Co. 2. Calloway 5 Lou. Eastern 3. Livingston Central 6 Lou. Eastern 4. Tournament starts tomorrow with Hopkins Co. Central playing Calloway Co. followed by Lou. Eastern playing Gibson Southern. Due to game count, Livingston Central and Heath were only going to play the 2 pool games.
  13. Heath High, Calloway County, Louisville Eastern, Gibson Southern (In), Livingston Central, and Hopkins County Central are this years team. Pool play will be Friday night and the tournament will be Saturday.
  14. And a very interesting side note is that Tim Riley applied for the job also.
  15. Tyler Smithhart, first year coach at Christian Co. will be taking the job at Henderson Co. He played ball there while in high school, so he is going back home.
  16. In the second region, there are 6 teams that could win it. Christian Co is the favorite, but didnt look their best in Owensboro this weekend. Hopkins Co Central returns a line up that lost their pitcher and an outfielder, with most of the big bats back, they could win it also. Madisonville has the youngest lineup, several 8th graders who can play ball with the best. Henderson Co and Union Co have split in their district and who knows will that one, both have good teams. The team from Livingston has really played well. Won the class A regional and did very well in the state class A. I know who I hope wins, but its a sit back and see over here. Really glad softball got its own thread. Will post more as the district fires up.
  17. This was a big test for Livingston Central. They won the class A second region and will be in the running for the second region tournament. Christian County didnt do as well as expected in the Owensboro Catholic tourney so this was a big game for them also.
  18. In a wild one from the second region, Henderson Co. scores 3 in the top of the first only to the Storm roar back and score 6 in the bottom of the first. In the 7th inning, HCC has a 8 to 4 lead and commits a 3 run error. Henderson would tie it up with the next batter. So the Storm come back with and a leadoff single combined with a 2 base error placed the winning run at third. With the infield in, the Storm hit a "punching Judy" right over the first baseman's head for the victory. Good win for the Storm who are coming off a good showing at the Owensboro Catholic Sportwarehouse Classic this weekend. they tied Male High and defeated Lexington Lafayette 8 to 0.
  19. A vote from western kentucky has just come in and its a YES also.!.
  20. Mid-season report for the first 4 regions look like this: Region 1-Marshall Co and Reidland are the two out front favorites. Reidland did lose the best pitcher in the region, but they know how to win. Heath and Murray and the two who can pull the upset. Region 2-Christian Co and Hopkins Co Central are the two out front favorites. Christian Co got the best pitcher from Reidland and now they have the best pitcher in the region. Hopkins Central won the region last year, and have the most experienced team returning. Henderson, Livingston, and Madisonville can all win the region. Like last year, whoever beats Christian Co, will most likely win it. Region 3-Owensboro Catholic and Grayson Co are the two out front. Mulenberg has a lot of talent, not for sure if they can pull it off. Daviess Co defeated OC, not for sure if they can do it again. Region 4- Allen Co-Scottsville the favorite. Bowling Green and Greenwood right there hoping to step into the right place right time to steal it away.
  21. I like it. The bottom bracket is loaded.
  22. I know its a different level, but just this year in the ncaa we had two big comeback wins and I also know the lead wasnt quite as much. Ky big comeback vs LSU was 31 I believe, and was a great one. Now on this level, there might not be as many ever to occur but I think the game wasn't set to hurry up and just get it over. If both coaches agree, have it as an option. The way I'm reading the rules if it hits 35 points it doesn't stop? So if a team goes on a 10-0 run and its down to 25 it keeps running? If thats the case just stop the game. Let everyone go home. On the other side, yes there are games where it does need to keep running. Make it an option.
  23. I enjoy the state tournament each year. I would agree the games in the opening round were not as good. I know there is unreal pressure if you have never played in front of a large crowd. Im from the second region and Hopkinsville looked really bad. But I also know they have played much better during the regular season. I would say they are the early favorite to return next year and even they year after that. And if they do, I would expect them to play better each time back.
  24. This one I was sure of. Goldie see you Friday.
  25. Good and fair question.. I believe they were going to play Rowan at Rupp. But was cancelled. They are really young and could be back for the next two years.
