In the 1st matchup the Birds scored 42 and CCH had 37 , can those scores be duplicated , you bet they can. So whats different this time ? Obviously the home field advantage has changed , and HHS is minus one great WR , other than that , not much is different . The team that wants it more will win. I look for a knockdown ,dragout war , from start to finish. As in all football games , turnovers will be the key. It doesn't matter who had the more difficult route to get here , the fact is your here , and the team that plays better will win on Friday night .This should be a great game !!!! Go Birds !!!

The nice looking gentleman , with a neatly trimmed beard , was out of line and the police were watching this JC fan BEFORE the former HHS player was ever involved. Having known this former HHS player for a while , he showed a lot of class by NOT knocking out the JC fan in question. There should be no more discussion on this topic , the thread is about the game. Now , back to the thread . Hope all the injured players recover quickly !!

Some clown was showing his classless attitude when Sheehan got hurt , and a former LB from HHS decided to shut him up . No big deal, but the genius from JC didn't know who he was messing with !! Afterwards me and the brothers had a good laugh !! Like I said , it was no big deal !!

Is this a state record for fewest yards allowed in a playoff game or even in a regular season game ?

A lot of surprizes tonight . I think JC threw the ball three times , one complete , one incomplete , and one pick . JJ was a non factor except for a few runs of maybe eight to ten yards . Devon Bruns was in the backfield A LOT , even being double teamed and sometimes held , but not called. Drake Bruns was laying the wood from sideline to sideline . It's obvious who the better team was , no doubt about it. I n the 1st QTR , Sheehan made a nice catch , about 50 yards , give or take a few. A personal foul was called and while Sheehan was still down ,the JC fans were cheering that Sheehan got hurt. This was way before they even tried to get him up and off the field. I won't say all JC fans are classless , but the ones at the fort were. Does anybody at JC know anything about sportsmanship ? I've watched a lot of football and I have never seen any body cheer because the opposing player got hurt. Now the smashmouth issue . You don't get points for personal fouls , and you don't get points for having classless fans , so the only way to score points is field goals , TD's and safetys. Call it what you want , but you will NEVER beat Highlands with a mediocre running game and three passes a game. I hope JC has a plan B for next year . Keep playing smashmouth football and Highlands will keep beating you and keep winning state titles. I hope the player from JC that left the field in the ambulance , is ok , and has a speedy recovery !! I also hope JC has an extremely loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggg ride home , but a safe one !!

You said it yourself smashmouth mountain football doesn' t have a very good record against the Birds , what makes you think anything different will happen Friday night. You obviously have a great RB in Jude , and he has great talent , but the Birds have shut down many , many great backs over the years. Since most high school football teams are run oriented , it should just be seen as business as usual . If you don't believe me , dig up a copy of the Elder game and you will see a running game not many has seen from the mountains . The Birds also shut down Elders passing game that they had , Elder got open over the middle , but Highlands DB's layed the wood on the recievers and after a while they weren't too froggy about catching passes. I saw on some previous posts about writing things down , you can write this down : Hoosier Bird Fan says " if Highlands D plays like they did at Elder , Johnson Central doesn't have a prayer of winning this game "

Give Elder a call and ask them how the running game went. Their O line was HUGE , and had a 6'3 230 lb running back to go with it .

I didn't know that you meant last years Highlands team was out of character. What does that have to do with this years Boyle team , playing the Birds this year ? As far as the loss to Ryle LAST YEAR , was the fact that Ryle was the better team on that given night .

Larry , I don't think you are a jerk , never have and never will. There is never a need to apologize to me. I have heard nothing but good things about you from people who know you well. If I apologized to everyone that I have offended on BGP , I'd go to my grave and still not have it done. My problem is that I like to yank a chain once in a while . You just happened to be the one to answer the call. I still wonder why most of the teams in Louisville won't even scrimmage the Rocks ! The teams have nothing to lose in a scrimmage , and can only gain info on where their teams weaknesses are. Highlands is all over scrimmaging Trinity because they know how much it will help the Birds in the long run. People always ask why doesn't Highlands play in a real game with T ? I'll tell you why , they can only gain in a scrimmage , that's why. Do you think the Birds felt good after the but whipping in the scrimmage earlier this year ? No they didn't , but they did feel pretty good going to the pit and beating Elder , which was a direct result from scrimmaging Trinity ,IMO. So Larry , there are no hard feelings on this end , so enjoy your dinner and try not to worry so much , life is too short .

Since I'm not from Louisville , why doesn't Manual 's JV and Frosh teams play Trinity ? The only reason Male played Trinity was because it was a district game and they had to , correct ? To stay on the thread topic , T will not stumble in the playoffs , period !!

When in Rome , do as the Romans do. When in the Ville , do as Trinity does !! The answere is obvious , or Larry might answer the question , I'm not from the Ville .

So they are learning very young to avoid Trinity , or anyone else for that matter , that will give them a loss ? It's programs like these that make Trinity what it is today , #1 in the nation !! What lesson are the kids learning from these tactics. If I live around the Ville , there is no doubt where I would go to play high school football. I don't care if I ride the pine for four years , I will still be a part of a history making program !! Yea Larry , I'm laughing all the way to Western Ky, hopefully, to the state finals to watch the Birds trying for #21. The reason I'm doing this is because Highlands knows what it takes to get there , and they learned a long time ago that dodging good teams is not the way to do it ! So you and your fellow Louisville football programs can cry all you want about Trinity's unlevel playing field , but you have done it to yourselves. So in closing , I think that I will get the last laugh .

What's laughable is the Ky 6A schools that won't even scrimmage Trinity .

If T stumbles in the playoffs , the first thing I would do is find out who spiked the Gatorade !!!
