I checked out the UK and U of L rosters for 2011 : UK Demarco Robinson (WR) 5-10 Nick Brazley (WR) 5-9 Uof L Charles Gaines(WR) 5-11 Robert Clark (WR) 5-9 Demarcus Topp (WR) 5-10 Eli Rogers (WR) 5-10 Jarret Davis (WR) 5-9 Kal Dominguez (WR) 6-0 Scott Radcliff (WR) 5-10 Looks to me that height doesn't mean that much at wide reciever, especially at Louisville. Of course these teams have taller recievers but this shows that you don't have to be ten feet tall to play in college. Of the players that I have listed , I don't know how many are scholly players, if any.

I'm looking at Rivals .

Comparing apples to apples : James Quick 14 games 82 receptions 1434 yards 17 yard average Sheehan 12 games 29 receptions 1013 yards 34.9 yard average According to the rosters Quick is 6 feet 1 inch tall Sheehan is 5 feet 9 inches tall

I'm ok with that . I would like to see a college step up and offer a full ride. I know people think of me as a homer , but I've seen him play , he IS the real deal.

College players don't get paid money , they get a free education.

This kid is too good to be a preferred walk on at any college. All these PWO offers are colleges trying to get good talent without paying the price. Averaged almost 40 yards per catch his senior season ,I don't know if Randy Moss had those kind of stats in HS.

WALK ON: A football player who joins a college team once classes have started in the fall , and hopes to demonstrate he should be given a roster spot. He is not on scholarship.

PREFERRED WALK ON: A player who is promised a roster spot and reports with the scholly players for fall camp a few weeks before classes start. He is not on scholly, but can earn a scholly as they become available.

Remember people used to laugh at the player who took the big hit and started to go to the other teams huddle. Remember the two a days in August and recieved no water , just the salt pills before and after practice ? Those days are over , thank God enough players were brought into the spotlight to help prevent serious injuries to other players. I can remember a certain player that hit somebody so hard that his eyes temporarily went crossed for a few seconds , he didn't tell anybody , so this player finished the game with nobody knowing he had an obvious head injury. Thankfully no serious impairments were later discovered . Even if there was a trainer there , would the trainer have known if the player kept it quiet , probably not. The trainers that are there need to check out those players who are in train wrecks even if they show no signs of injury. Hopefully the athletic trainers that are there are competent and not just getting a good view of the game from the sidelines.

Not knowing what assistant coaches get paid and not knowing what athletic trainers get paid , doesn't trading in a coach or two for one athletic trainer seem logical ? Just how many assistant coaches are absolutely needed to have a respectable or winning program ?

The bottom line in any great football program is that everybody has to be on the bandwagon. Head coach is where it starts but you must have the players "buy into " it as well as the parents , fans , faculty , and assistant coaches. Everybody has to be on the same page and work dilligently to achieve the same goals. In my opinion , that is the difference between a good program and a great program. Give coach Brossart some time and be patient , he just might be what Dixie needs to be competitive again. I can't be against anybody who volunteers their time to help teenagers wheather their payed or not. Good luck coach , and hopefully we can see a more competitve Dixie back on the Highlands schedule again soon.

You walk down memory lane , while I drive from my parents house on the north side of town. I take a ride by St. Catherine of Sienna and still remember the nuns beating the tar out of me . Back to the thread , Hamblen was special , but then you could say that about a lot of Bird players. It's all good , I walk to the game after parking on Indiana Ave , good memories , no doubt. Perhaps this should be another thread , I've always wondered which side of the fort that the best players came from.( The haters will be lining up for this one. )

Sheehan's injury may have slowed down his recruitment . Preferred walk on at UK , now an offer from EKU . The offers will only get better. Tons of talent and speed, and a great pair of hands.

Frogs all purpose yards could be off the chart ! WOW ! My spy says Hayes is the real deal . Just his opinion from observation.

Of course it depends on the run/pass ratio ,but I think HHS has three backs that are capable. Hayes , Siedel and Harris have enough talent to get it done.

Can I assume that you played O line at some point in time ? O line never gets the glamor over the skill positions , it's part of life. Quick , Wright and Dawkins know who their O lineman are and I'm sure they give them thanks and praise after every game. The three guys mentioned have talent out the wazoo ,as you'll see by all the D1 recruiters wearing out the sidewalk to sign them. I don't hear anyone else complaining. :idunno:
