I have not seen Sewell play but i have seen Justice play a few times and he is a great high school player who i could definately see being worthy of Mr. Basketball. I am sure Sewell is very deserving but i have not seen him play.

East Carter played very well and shot the ball well in overtime. They were the best all around team in the regional tournment this year. I saw the championship game and they made big plays the whole game when they needed one.

Is Grant only interested in hiring an experienced head coach or are they looking to possibly get a young coach in there that may have less experience but will be highly motivated to get the feeder program to the level that needs to be at?

I also hope to see Mr. Watts in Rupp this season. I believe this is Raider Rob's year to break thru and get to Rupp. I think there is several teams capable of making a run and putting up a fight for the regional title this year.

Lewis Co will have a good season behind Smith and Riley's play.

I would like to add Adam Wing of Rowan County to this list. Started as a freshman last season and he looks to build off of his experience from last year. He had a wonderful summer and looks to be one of the 16th region players to watch as he continues to grow and mature. Oh yeah did i mention he is the QB on the football team and it stating to shine there as well. I look for this kid to turn heads around the 16th this year.

I heard one of the Carroll County assistant coaches is applying for the job. This is just second hand information so don't quote me on that!!

Heard that they juggled their coaching staff a little for the upcoming season. This might have an impact on the outlook for the panthers this season.

This was one of the best fourth quarter comebacks I have seen in a long time. The tomcats shot the lights out in the third quarter to build a big lead and this game looked to be all but over. But the Vikings looked like a team fighting for thier lives to come back and tie the game and send it to overtime. The Vikings simply just ran out of gas in OT and the Tomcats prevailed. In a couple years Coach Thacker will have the Vikings in the hunt for a regional title and at the top of the 16th Region.
