Also Boyd County had some dandy teams In the 80's and 90's. If i recall correctly they won about 16 District Championships in about 20 years. Not saying they had the best team, but just giving them some props.

Just reading a very old thread and saw this dandy. Well I'd like to say thats changed somewhat!:thumb::sssh:

That can be agreed on. 2003 has some very good teams in our region. Ashland had a great squad that year also, but the boys from the "Hill" got the job done and beat a good South Laurel team in state before losing to Ballard in a game they were up by as much as 13 in.

Give us who they were, key players, and why they were so good.

I'd follow bell's advice, from what i understand he knows what he's talking about. If you can stand the unusual "crack" of the Nike Sumo SQ squared, I'd say thats your best bet. It's straight and very forgiving, without sacraficing any distances. :thumb:

They lost a good golfer in Limpach last year. Also Whittaker from Johnson Central is going to be strong! Flannery from Elliot has the complete game. Abdon from Greenup is great,but can he keep his head out of the way? Honorable mention go to Logan from West Carter, Barber from Rose Hill, Ethan Faulkner from Elliot. I know i'm missing some, but these are the scores from last years regional tournament that stuck out and thati remember best. If it were the same region as last year I'd have to say that Stuart Witt would be the best player.

You also have to realize that Rose Hill isn't that bad of a perimeter threat either. Euton and Barber for the season have percentages in the high 40's and Gambill, Malloy, and even Jackson can hit them in flurries. Jackson's shooting has much improved, especially as of late.:thumb:

How many close games do they have? Most of their wins have come from bashing weaker opponents brains out.

I'll take East somewhere in the 6-12 range.

If I recall correctly last night Rose Hill's guards scored 58 out of the teams 62 points. They also have outstanding guard play.

IMO two man team no longer an issue.

Mr. Gamble has certainly stepped up his play as of late. He is gaining more and more confidence everytime he laces it up. :thumb:

Station by 12 in a fairly close game till the mid 4th.

Also Rowan played very hard! They kept playing hard the whole game, and never quit. Late in the game fatigue set in and Rose Hill's press started to pay off. For Rowan: Pettit 14 Sergent 11 Duff 4 Cross 3 Ginter 3 Brockman 2

Rose Hill came out slow early, but picked the pace up later on and ran away with it. Awesome performance by Mr. Jackson!!! He is the real deal!! Also, Euton, who played very hard tonight, didn't get many touches on offense because of a very well planned attack by Rowan. Rose Hill's supporting cast helped out as well, solid game from Barber, Bush, and Gambill. Jackson 31 Barber 16 Gambill 7 Euton 4 Bush 2 Malloy 2

Very good win for a very deserving Ashland team! Congrats to Biggs and the boys for beating a very good team in Bath County. They played Rose Hill to a close game and squeeked out with the win in this game.
