  1. Tyler Boyles was coming into the season fresh of a good summer in AAU. Why is he not making a bigger name for himself?
  2. Franklin Co. is really clicking right now and will surprise some teams come March.
  3. Before I get criticized for putting these teams down, let me specify that these may not be the "best" 5 in the state but the teams playing the hottest and most proficient ball. 1. Scott County- Hasn't lost since Dec 22. Would like to see another Holmes matchup. 2. Holmes- had a few close games recently, but still playing with a lot of passion and pride. 3. Eastern- They have proven they are the front-runner in the 7th region. 4. Mason County- Have been on a tear lately, nearly beating Scott County at SC's place. Friday will show a peak into how the 10th will play out. 5. Shelby Valley- Beat a very good Elliott County and won a very strong All "A" state tournament. I think on any given night if either one of those teams played each other right now, it'd be 50/50 as to who won.
  4. Having seen both teams play this year, I like Mason County in this one. Middleton is a handful and if players coming of MC's bench get hot then they will be tought to beat. With Rogers out GRC will not have that solid 3rd scoring option. I'll take Mason by 8
  5. Jackson was close to a triple-double with 10+ points, 9 rebounds, and 8 steals.
  6. Duncanville is ranked #1 in the U.S. preseason according to ESPN. Scott County is #47. http://sports.espn.go.com/highschool/rise/basketball/boys/news/story?id=3681531
  7. These are legit numbers. Many if not half were offensive. SC didnt not shoot especially hot tonight.
  8. Ballard came out and played very well tonight, especially in the first half. They were up 21-9 if im not mistaken after the 1st quarter. Cox is a very gifted player. He hit at least 7 3's and had a couple other shots inside the arc. I liked the way he composed himself and also his mannerism. Good young player. Now to Scott County.. They came out flat and for a short time had me worried. They ended up starting the 2nd quarter on a 16-4 run and got the lead. They played close with Ballard till halftime, going into the locker room up 5 46-41. In the second half they took advantage of of a few turnovers and took the momentum. After the first 3 minutes or so of the 3rd quarter they got up by 12 and never looked back. I also want to add that the cheering sections for both teams were awsome and very well-stocked. They had a big influence in the game. Richie Phares played like a man among boys tonight with 30 points and 21 rebounds. He was dominating the boards all night. Euton also had a solid game 15 and 11. Freshman Tamron Manning had an excellent game off the bench with 11 points and a handful of steals. Guyn had 23 points after missing his first 6 from the field, and Chad Jackson started off a little jittery in the 1st half but turned 180 degrees and played very well the 2nd half. He had 9 points and 8 rebounds.
  9. And as for this post, what happens if Scott County beats your beloved Holmes, and a very good GRC? Will you finally give the hard working boys their deserved credit? I know that in my mind if either of those teams pull out an upset i will be happy for their team. But getting on here and saying they WILL lose is a little over the top. No need to bash any school like that.
  10. Actually a very tall athletic kid, #43, guarded Euton most of the night. He looked about 6'6.:thumb:
  11. Scott county played well in spurts tonight but overall they seem to still be settling in with the new team mates and their respective games. I thought Male came out in the 2nd, after getting busted in the 1st, with a lot of heart and got up by as much as 13-0. After the second quarter though SC started feeding the ball more inside to Phares and Euton, where Male couldn't match up, and started to control the ball game like they should. I think Guyn finished with 29 while only missing 2 shots. Euton started cold but went on a tear with 4 treys in a row, Phares played well inside all night, and lastly Jackson handled the ball very well. I was pleased to see how well he finishes the ball in traffic. Stats: PG Chad Jackson only 6 points but 7 reb (did not have many shot opportunities) 2G Aaron Ford 4 points 3 steals 3G Gelawn Guyn 29 points 4 steals PF Dakotah Euton 18 points 11 reb and 3 steals C Richie Pares 21 points 11 reb The players came that off the bench Tamron Manning, Austin Flannery, and Isaiah Ivey all gave very good minutes. T. Manning 4 points 4 reb 5 steal I. Ivey 2 points 1 reb A. Flannery 3 points 3 reb JV won their scrimmage also, with the highlight of SC forward Will Schu dunking in the paint and hanging on the rim to avoid falling on a player below him but recieving a technical foul. Some JV stats: PG H. Willoughby 21 points 3 steals 2G Avery Ford 4 points 3 reb 3G I. Ivey 12 points 6 reb SF R. Barber 12 points 9 reb PF W. Schu 15 points 9 reb The Freshman also won their scrimmage with a very talented you point guard Zach Bryant leading the way.
  12. I thought this was a GREAT movie! :thumb:
  13. Sandlot 2 and 3. Horrible!! The Fan Fever Pitch
  14. Basketball is a great sport to play in the off season for Kentucky golfers, because in the winter it is too cold to be a range or course junky and it keeps you in top shape and helps build up muscles that help the golf swing.
  15. Marcellous is one of the most well-mannered young men you will ever meet. I give kudos to his mother and his late father for raising such a fine young man.
  16. Great list, all these players have such great versatility. IMO this is what makes them the top of 2011. :thumb:
  17. I see Dakotah Euton and Chad Jackson on the list, and if my memory serves me right I do not ever recall seeing them at the Blue Chip camp.
  18. In region play, I recall him shooting an especially high number for his apparent "caliber" of play.
