I think the way to get the best championship games is to seed the entire playoff system...this will not work because of travel but the semi-finals could be seeded and played on nuetral sites. Nuetral sites would probably not work so highest seed would be home team. If they are district winners then use our tiebreaker system. Take 8 wins from schedule and see how many wins those 8 teams have. Which ever team has most points is high seed and home. 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3

Don't see it ever working. Why LCC, Bwood or any school want to host a playoff game for other schools when chances are their team is still playing. Who would be the workers for the game? How would you split the gate. If 1 team had to travel 90 miles and the other 45 there would be complaints. If it could be worked out to do it at college fields in regional areas on Friday and Saturday it could possible work. Not sure there is enough with turf.

I BELIEVE the coaches can nominate 2-3 of their players and then a committee picks the team. I think this helps in not having an abundance of 1 position. I'm sure the coaching staff is part of the committee. Has anyone seen the rosters?

The parking at Papa Johns was good but getting into it was terrible. It appears there are about 2400 rooms in BG. Does anyone know if there are motels within walking distace of the stadium. We started staying at Hilton Garden and Country Suites in Louisville so we could walk and I really liked that set-up.

WOW Jim you must be my wife, knowing my reasons and beliefs. But then again if all the UK fans who hate going to Louisville went to the games in Lexington it would increase attendance. IMO the games in Lexington would increase attendance from EKY, central Ky and southern Ky. Without decreasing people from Nky and Wky from attending. I also think Lexington would do a better job advertising and the Lexington and Hazard TV stations promo's would help attendance. In the last 28 years I have been 23 times to the finals. So, I dont really hate going to Louisville. As far as supporting UofL..guess your right. Don't like them, never have liked them and doubt if I ever will.:walk:

Be sacastic all you want. If the games were in Lexington attendance would be better. I hope I'm wrong but I believe the attendance at BG will be the lowest in a long time.

I just think the city of Lexington would support it more, which would increase attendance. If the season is really to long, which I don't think it is, cutting it back 1 week would not be the answer.I could deal with no bye week, take top 3 to playoffs with 1 seed getting a bye. This however would mean the 1 seed would lose gate money and some feel they need it to support the other programs.

I agree. Number 6 is a big plus.I also think if football finals were in Lexington attendance would increase 25%. It seems like 75% of the people in Louisville do not even know high school football finals are going on. Also, sixteen schools being represented will draw more that six schools. The number of students at the Sweet 16 is far greater than the football championships.

It MAY produce more. Football has 5-6 home games, basketball 12ish. Cost about $150 1 basketball player. Cost about $500 equip 1 football player. 40-50 football players 15-20 basketball players. It may produce twice as much but it takes 7-10 x's more money to field a team. I'm a football man totally but there is a misconception IMO about the $$$$.

There are approx.4900 Off and Def starters in the state. To think all will make it that are deserving is not going to happen. The ones who made it are deserving and congratulations to them.

What was the call???? I thnk the official is considered part of the floor so if it hit him in backcourt and came back to front court it would be the same if it had back spin onit and came back so I would say no call, play.

The 4 football players had only 1 week of practice so not sure how much if any they played. Coach Robinson I believe had to sit at the house or in the parking lot for this one. I believe the Burg will get better each week.

Did Highlands run only 37 plays against JC? If Whitley can controll the ball it will give them a small chance. I think if Whitley can put FTH in passing situation ie... 3rd and more than 6 it will help in the pass rush....Whitley obviously cant turn the ball over, have penalties and put themselve in 3rs and long. Whitley can throw the ball ecpecially on 2 and 3rd down and short yardage and also on 1st down, Labanion is very accurate and has good receivers.

Exit 15, turn left, approx. 1 mile turn left. Nice atmosphere for HS football. Before you get to left turn to school you will see on right where the new field with turf is going to be.
