  1. Whitley Corbin should be an annual event, would be very competative year in and year out. There are 17 schools in Whitley, Clay, Knox, Bell, Harlan, Pulaski and Rockcastle. I just dont see why area teams have to play Bethlehem, Newport, Dayton, Jenkins, Churchill, Holy Cross etc, when there is good competition very close by with lots better gates that some of these teams will bring. I DO understand scheduling can be difficult and some situations are unavoidable but I think ALL area coaches could year in and year out give a better effort to schedule games the fans and players would love and make the administration see $$$$$$ signs. Good luck to ALL area teams, coaches, players and fans as the playoffs near. I for one would love to see more than 1 trophy in this area.:dancingpa
  2. I was thinking LC and Whitley stopped playing for a few years somewhere between 75-85. I could be wrong. LC and Wburg go back to early 70's. Pineville and Wburg I believe go back to 47. Alot of schools disbanded football during the war.I would appreciate any info on the Wburg Pineville series.
  3. I know there are several. Williamsburg and Pineville will play Nov. 7th. I'm not sure of the exact number of years but pretty sure 50 or more. What are some of the other games that have been going on for many consecutive years?
  4. Probably will get Pineville...But it will be more difficult than Bethlehem game was for Corbin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He didnt say Wburg would win 9 out of 10.
  5. The were looking into why an official had to throw a Lynn Camp coach, fan or what ever he is out of the game that night. They were NOT looking into calls made during the game.
  6. Wasn't a team that made any complaints. It was a couple of whinning fans. Just like in this case!
  7. Wburg would play winner of #3 LC and #2 LCA. By seeding you would expect Our 1 seed would play their 2 and Their 1 seed play our 2 in second round. It would be same as 04 when LC beat 2ssed and then came to Wburg for a rematch. You where the one that said we hadnt beaten any of those teams.
  8. Actually Williamsburg has beaten Beechwood before in a regular season game. Coach Herron played on that team. I would love to see LC beat LCA and come back down to Wburg for another big match-up. Not because I would rather play LC but I would like to see our district do well and I'm not a big private school supporter. Also Wburg has beaten Frankfort.
  9. No...You need to post that on the other message..board...this one is not for that trash,.... nice win for WHS...good game to watch!
  10. The fact that Wburg beat LC last year ALLOWED them the chance to be 1st seed.
  11. 3rd seed will be alot different animal that 2nd. 3rd seed will travel to LCA and 2nd seed will have a home game against probably Fairview. Congratulations to Lynn Camp and Coach Mitchell for playing a very difficult schedule. Rain will help LC. LC cant turn the ball over which in previous games against Wburg has been a problem. They need to also have ball control. Wburg must stop the run, be able to run the ball and not drop passes.
  12. Yes. Does LC ever water the field down if its not going to rain?:flame::lol:
  13. LC could end up with some quility loses. What does that count for? Maybe Coach Herron should get scheduler of the year last two years for realizing there could very well be a 3 way tie and my schedule could put me 1st seed and give me home playoff games. This will be a very interesting game. Bad weather favors LC. Not turning the ball over and ball control will be what LC has to do. Wburg will have to stop the run, be able to run the ball and not drop passes. I look forward to watching the game.
  14. 9 and 10 are really good teams. But if you get beat as bad as they did give someone else love!
  15. If he had not advanced far enough for a first down, would it be turned over on downs or does it give 1st down after the punt?
  16. The only hate that appears to go on is between some fans and a few BGP posters who stur things up. The games have been hard hitting but clean. I look for this one to be no different. LC getting healthy and Wburg playing better "D". Could be a low scoring affair with TO's and special teams making the difference.
  17. I think Jim has an e-mail address. Huge game for both teams. I think W,burg line is underestimated. They have good size, quickness and strength.I don't think Cville line can be by far more physical. Possible a little bigger but not stronger. Williamsburg is a little deceptive in the speed aspect, they are not really as fast as you think they would be.Think it will be a lower scoring game than most expect.
  18. Beechwood is a different animal. It's a magnet football school. The kids from the larger schools, except a couple, migrate to Bwood for the chance to win a state title. I would say over the last 30 years if there was only 1 state champion crowned its unlikely a 1A school would have ever won it.
  19. Schools who do this pay out a $$$ amount to visiting team, usually anywhere from $1000 to $5000. If a school agrees to go play only 1 year or 2 years in a row without getting $$$$ its there own fault.
  20. Wburg returns 9 starters on offense and 9 on defense. Cville returns several starters while graduating Bridgewater. LC returns some very good skill players and what Coach Mitchell says could be the best line he has had in 30 years. Could this be Coach Mitchells 1st ever outrite district championship. Will Cvilles athletes prevail or will the passing attack of Wburg come through. Could Clinton upset 1 of the 3 to put a twist in things. Cville has added a nice twist to the district. Wburg has won 4 of last 5 over LC. LC has Coach Mitchell.
  21. Tyler Rollins, squat 600, bench 365, clean 300 Zack Hopkins, squat 500, bench 400, clean 280 Jeremy Collins, squat 530, bench 315, clean 255 Garrett Phillips, squat 500, bench 315, clean 245 Aaron Brock, squat 500, bench 250, clean 215
