  1. Sorry what is the Jim Ray award?
  2. I am hearing rumors that Ginn is no longer playing softball at Morehead. I have checked their website and she is not listed on their roster. Does anyone have any details on this. I knew this was going to be a big jump for her but one I thought she would make. Hopeful she is staying in school or transfering to another university.
  3. I understand that.....just stating that she is also a D1 caliber goalie also.
  4. Congrats to Olivia, couldn't be happier for her and her family! I would bet my pay check she will be the best goalie on Clev. State's campus also.
  5. NDA

SSC replied to SSC's topic in KY Softball (High School)
NDA was an up and coming team this past year until they fell apart in the post season. Where would they rank with the addition of Smith? I would have to think they may be the favorite to win the region depending on who Ryle has back and who is or is not playing for them. Would think this will be another down year for the region unless teams like Connor and Boone, NDA and maybe Dixie can step up.
  6. NDA

I agree but did not see where anyone asked for the Smith family to discuss. I may be the only one on here that thinks this way but I think it would be great if more people did share their likes and dislikes about certain schools or coaches. Anyone that has been on a message board before should know that there are two sides to every story so just bc one side is presented on here doesn't mean it would be taken as fact.
  7. Wow sounds like you have a coach that is trying to do the right things, good luck!
  8. NDA

That's great, even though I have a strong dislike for NDA I think that is great!! (mainly bc they beat us in soccer) I wonder what is going through the Ryle coaches head now that they have had several key kids choose not to play and their top player transfer. Kinda sounds like Billy G is coaching out there. Best of luck wish it wasn't to late for Maddy to transfer. Going kinda suck seeing her sit out her senior year.
  9. NDA

I have heard that Haylee Smith is eligible to play this year for NDA, does anyone know if this is true. I hope that is the case, what a loss for Rlye but they always seem to reload.
  10. Their schedule is awfully tough too.
  11. Figured something was up since he hasn't been to school yet at HC this year.
  12. Will go with GC, good pitching with a strong core of players. They also have probably the only D1 player in the district.
  13. Of course this could be off a little bc in NKY we know how polls go but this gives you a good idea who are some of the top travel ball teams in the country. FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Officials released the final polls for the 2012 TC/National Softball Rankings today, with the So Cal A’s out of Ontario, Calif., and Worth Firecrackers from Huntington Beach, Calif., topping the list in all four ranking categories. “We are very excited to release the 2012 FINAL TC/National Softball Rankings,” said TC/National Rankings Official Alyson Morgenstern. “The best fastpitch organizations in the nation are represented throughout our polls and the newly-designed rankings website allows teams to easily navigate and view the final standings.” The So Cal A’s topped the list in the TC/National Point System Rankings by cumulating the most points during the 2012 season. The A’s defeated the Worth Firecrackers, 5-4 in the championship game at the Premier Girls Fastpitch Nationals and took second at the Colorado Independence Days Tournament. For the second straight year, the Worth Firecrackers finished No. 1 in both the Top Overall Program Poll and the Final Blended Rankings. The Worth Firecrackers won the Colorado Fireworks in Aurora, Colo., after defeating the Arizona Storm Gold, 6-0 (No. 14 in Blended Rankings) in the championship game. The TC/National Softball Rankings consists of three components: (1) Top Programs Poll; (2) National Point System (NPS) Ranking; (3) College Player Index (CPI) Ranking. The Top Programs Poll is subjective poll voted on by the top fastpitch club coaches in the country. The National Point System is an objective ranking based upon a cumulative point total recognizing results from a select few national tournaments each year. The College Player Index is an objective poll totaling the number of signed college players on the current roster and the roster from the four previous years. Each point value associated with the three components is weighted and re-calculated into the Blended Rankings. By combining the three separate systems into the Blended Ranking it allows for teams to be ranked based upon a subjective poll, voted by club coaches and media, and two rankings based upon objective criteria or points systems. This BCS-like formula is used to add validity to the TC/National Softball Rankings. I am a little younger than you guys, maybe that is why it slipped by me. JMU's mens basketball is struggling right now so they could use lefty back. Maybe Maddy could talk her cousin into going there!

    I didn't know that, thanks!
  17. SSC replied to SSC's topic in KY Softball (High School)
Thanks Porky, yeah she got a great deal, when the coach left we heard from others schools but no one had the kind of money left we were looking for.
  18. I have been asked by several people so I thought I would just go ahead and post it. Madyson Moran has decommited bc of a coaching change from Radford. She will now be attending James Madison University. Radfords coach left and now is at JMU so that was big for her. JMU also has put well over a 100 million into there athletic department over the last 5 years so Maddy really likes the facilities. She loved Radford and the new coach was going to honor her deal but JMU has a lot of the same qualities with a lot better facilities. JMU is also looking to move conferences into the Big East or Conf USA. JMU is in a strong softball conf, Hoftra from their conf made the super regions this year.
  19. Nothing I can do about that. She is going to end up ok. Some schools do a great job at promoting theirs kids, some just don't.
  20. Sounds great Lawnboy, glad to hear you guys enjoyed the season.
  21. SSC replied to SSC's topic in KY Softball (High School)
Softball gets 12, it works a little different for each school. For us we had several schools offer a 100% or close. That was the money promised through athletic depart. Now if you can get other money through programs like KEYS or something along that they would use it first then use the athletic money elsewere. Of course if you test real well you could also get that money and not use as much athletic money but I don't have to worry about that! If you do accept that acadamic money I believe you have to mantain a 3.0 to keep it.
  22. Agree but was just trying to make a point that if NKY coaches don't notice then its going to be real hard for colleges coaches to.
  23. SSC replied to SSC's topic in KY Softball (High School)
I have no clue, If I had to guess I would say no. This young lady does not need to worry about this. Hers is closer to 100% than 25%!!
  24. SSC replied to SSC's topic in KY Softball (High School)
Very surprised by this thread. We have one of the very few girls in NKY history to recieve an offer to play D1 ball and very few comment on it.
  25. Again tend to disagree, 2 years ago during my daughter's prime recruiting time she hit .603 with 9 homers in 68 ab's. Not quite the numbers you were talking about but I would think they were pretty good. Not only did no college coaches notice, no NKY coaches noticed either. She did not get any thing as far as awards from NKY. I believe 2 of those homers were against your team.
