  1. I don't think that new jobs are created for individual retailers at the same rate as the jobs lost, though. I would bet that the consolidation of people is a big positive in shifting toward online models for the larger retail companies. The people savings is a big deal for the largest retailers, as they can deliver products to consumers regardless.
  2. Okay- we are so far away from my point and the original question asked in this thread.
  3. Yes, I agree with you. My original point was that most companies prefer online business models because they are cheaper to operate and generate greater revenues and profits. Fewer overhead costs related to leases, insurance, utilities and people make online models very attractive for some of the largest retail companies. It is the classic Blockbuster vs. Netflix Budiness case study. Blockbuster died and Netflix thrives.
  4. Not debating that- I still contend they the overwhelming majority of online retailers charge a shipping fee.
  5. You also pay for that privilege- a percentage goes to UPS per their exclusivity deal with Amazon. You pay for shipping, just not as you may be used to with other sites.
  6. I think a retailer like Wal Mart has established their brand on being the low cost leader and they carry this over to their online operations. They have competition from vendors like Amazon and Target and auction sites like eBay. I imagine their costs to consumer will always be incredibly competitive.
  7. You can find select exceptions to any rule, but the overwhelming majority of online retailers charge for shipping.
  8. If you left it to most businesses, I would think they would close brick and mortar operations as online models for direct to consumer products are significantly cheaper than the brick and mortar models because of people and property costs.
  9. By the time you pay taxes and shipping, the costs tend to be better on many in store purchases. Part of the idea is also enticing consumers to wait for their purchase, as shipping can take as little as 24 hours and as long as months depending on where you purchase from, what you purchase and shipping options.
  10. My thought is the same. Have a card with that fight and match up Holm with Zigano and winners fight in November. This gives Cyborg almost the whole year to cut to 135 and February 2016 will match her up with Rousey.
  11. Cat is better than that...too reckless and dumb. Holm didn't really impress me enough to say she deserves a title fight with Rousey. We need Cyborg to drop to 135 and come on to the UFC.
  12. If they lose two games and the Wahoos finish their slate unbeaten, Virginia will likely be the #1 overall seed, IMO. I think they could lose two and get a #1 overall seed over Gonzaga even if the Zags finish without a blemish. I'm not sure any other program would be in consideration considering the records and conferences. A 2 loss UK gets the nod over Duke, Wisconsin or Nova, IMO.
