I don't think anyone on the board is argueing that Gallatin has better talent than South. South is the better team. Gallatin played better tonight. All at the game will attest to that. Ask Jackson if he got fouled. His comment after the game to a Gallatin player was he flopped and did not get hit. It was a disappointing way to end a season for Gallatin. They certainly could have taken better care of the ball at the end. OT was the right way to settle this game, not a flop foul on a fadeaway 3.

He has not came out and said this, but it is the vibe that I get when talking to him. Gallatin County's Freshman, JV and Varsity beat the Braves this year, all pretty handedly. So why would he want to go somewhere where he has to work harder to build what he already has going here? Jones is already in adminstration, he is the AD and the Dean of Students for Gallatin County High.

I'll bet anyone a blizzard from the Warsaw Dairy Queen, that Jon Jones has no intrest in the job and that he will not be leaving the Wildcats of Gallatin County. Any takers?

South Oldham's coach is Steve Simpson, if I'm not mistaken I believe he is from Grant Co.

Shelby beat Anderson by 2 or 3 points last week. They are on top, but Anderson is close.

This is disappointing for his kids, I could not imagine having to play for a new coach halfway through the season. Ron has done a good job at Grant, it is hard to coach where you grew up. It seems like there is always a segment of a local community that always remembers you as a snotty nosed little kid and can not appreciate you as an adult.

Gallatin's team set in the upper deck away from everyone. Left before the game was over. They were the second car out of the parking lot. This is a fabrication.

He is a real intelligent kid. I think he was a Governor's Scholar last summer. I would not be surprised to see him follow a career path that does not include basketball. He has problems with his feet, but I believe he will play this year and have a big year.

There was 2:22 left in the game when Frankfort got a first down inside the 5. A polite option is to take a knee 4 times and run out the clock. They chose to run the ball and they scored. I don't think they were running up the score, but they did not take the polite option. Gallatin did give up another quick score with an interception. Throwing the ball would have been rubbing your face in the ground. Frankfort wasn't rude: they weren't polite either. Just an opinion.

Gallatin outplayed Frankfort for 3 quarters. GC threw an interception that led to Frankfort's score. Air went out of their sails after that. The game was still close until late in the 4th and then Frankfort socred 3 times with less than 5 minutes to play. The game was much closer than the final score. Obviously, you must play the entire game, but Frankfort had to be nervous going into the 4th quarter.

Walton has the size to matchup well with Owen. Burns is 6'7 and Reynolds is 6'5. WV has better guards than Owen. Sullivan, Ponzer and Bowling are probably all better than what Owen has at guard. How Walton handles the new coach will be a factor. Trame is qualified. WV is a great dark horse pick.

Lewis is an athletic guard. He brings a lot of positives for Owen. The question is, will he be willing to assume his role and throw the ball in to the big boys and play defense. I think Kelly and Osborne will do that. I don't know if Lewis even starts. 1. Kelly - good handler, will pass first, knows his role 2. Osborne - good spot shooter, good size, will follow his role 3. Shelton - creates problems, 6'8 can score inside and out 4. Colligan - work horse who rebounds and battles every possession 5. Williams - 6'6 very good inside Lewis comes in off of the bench to provide a spark. Owen will be very tough to beat. All three guards are decent, but none of them have handled the heat from Anderson, Shelby or North. The bigs are best suited for a half court game. Shelton and Williams are going to have a difficult time guarding peopel away from the basket, slow feet. I do think Owen should win the All A and their district. Depending on their draw, they should win their opening regional game. I think that is their ceiling.

Shelby is the clear favorite. Anderson, North and South are going to have a very good year. Oldham is very athletic but young. WV has bigs and guards. Owen has the best bigs in the region. Simon has 2 excellent guards and unknown bigs. Gallatin has good guards and decent depth but no bigs. As always, it will come down to how teams handle match up problems. Shelby has good talent in all aspects and experience. They are the easy pick.

There is no reason he would not be eligible. He has never played a varsity sport for North, so he is auomatically eligible.

GC has struggled this year offensively. Defense has been solid every outing. They get better each week. 3-3 now with a huge game versus Eminence coming up.

He may very well do great things. He has done better than most at Henry. I just don't understand the viewpoint from some that Oldham is going to be better because of Holland. Oldham has been good for years. When you look at the banners on the wall, they are used to winning 20, winning districts, and contending to go to state every year. Their player talent will be athletic and young - not experienced and skilled, there coach is young, new, and has never won a district tournament - I think Holland will do well, Oldham will do well - I just don't see them as a regional contender this year, which is what this thread was originally about.
