Well USF has now beaten each of the "Big 3" at least once. FWIW, Florida offered my granddaughter (senior at Apopka High) a full ride for her academic prowess. She hasn't accepted, yet. She has been invited to Chapel Hill and Notre Dame. She wants to check those out before deciding, though I think she will end up in Gainesville. She's a Florida girl, allergic to snow and temps below 50. ?

USF is over ranked. It will make this weekend's game in Miami Gardens more interesting, though.

I think with the portal and the NIL you are seeing that coaches do understand this. Billy Napier loaded up from the portal. USF's Alex Golesh went hard for defensive players and, from the looks of game 1, improved it dramatically.

Boise State's coaching staff sank this game. The fact that they were not paying attention when USF sent out a quarterback as the punter on the fake punt said everything. Betcha Billy Napier's staff will be looking for that, though. The Bulls face #13 Florida this Saturday and #5 Miami the following week. Golish ain't playing hide and seek.

We will know about Miami pretty quick. They open against Notre Dame and have Florida in week 3. We won't know anything about Louisville until the conference season opener in week 4. (Or will we? ?)

My son-in-law, a huge ND fan, and grandson have seats in the club section. They are sitting with parents of a ND player. For the life of me, I cannot remember the player's name, but he and my grandson became friends when my grandson participated in the ND summer camp, summer before last. The player and his parents have stayed in touch with my daughter's family since. Father and son have gone to at least 2 games in South Bend every year since my grandson was 7 or 8. My grandson takes off to college next fall so this may be the last time they get to do something like this together.
