  1. My 2007 Silverado turns 13 in May. Still going strong. 151,000 + on the odo.
  2. I have to be honest. I have never been more ambivalent toward any sporting event as I am this one and you know how I feel about the College Football Playoffs. It appears I am going through some kind of priorities shift due to age an situation. Should be interesting to see how this one plays out. 🙂
  3. Nope. I point you back to this post I made in April... https://bluegrasspreps.com/forums/topic/220610-gronk-to-the-bucs/?do=findComment&comment=4783208 I still stand by that post. My feelings toward Ndamukong Suh have not changed just because the Bucs are in the Super Bowl. Again, I wish the Bucs well, but I have other things to do Super Bowl weekend. For what it is worth, if the Lightning were to obtain Brad Marshand I would cease to be a fan of the Bolts as well.
  4. My kid just texted me wanting my son-in-law to get SB tickets. I have been working all day, so I would have had no idea what had happened, otherwise. The Bolts, Buc, and Rays all make the championship game/series of their respective sports. Now can the Buccaneers match the Lightning?
  5. Disposable. I have several 50 count boxes of 4-ply jobbies that I use most of the time. Keep 2 boxes in the truck, two in the car. I also keep reusables around in case I run out. The disposables are easier on my ears.
  6. We never ate out much when I was growing up. I remember a hotel restaurant in Garmisch, Germany, we vacationed at when we were stationed in Munich. That I considered pretty fancy. Once back in Kentucky, though, an occasional bucket from the Colonel in Corbin was considered a night out.
  7. Something I did every day as a kid. Funny what makes city folk think is a cool thing. 🙂
  8. Ain't nothin' better 'an leftover chili for breakfast. Add a couple of over easy eggs on top and you have something close to Heaven.
  9. Chili is definitely the answer, but I am of the opposite opinion. If the chili were to be only Cincinnati style chili, I'd have to consider soup (though that type of chili is close to soup anyway). Don't get me wrong, I like that type of Chili, especially Dixie, especially over spaghetti, but prefer a hearty Texas style. In fact, when I make my version of Cincinnati style chili, I start with 2 or 3 lbs of ground beef and add cans of Dixie or Skyline to season the beef. My version is thick.
  10. When my father was alive we had no need for any membership club, because he belonged to the biggest membership club of all. The US Military. When I was a kid we would drive up to Ft. Knox twice a year and get bulk items, visiting my grandparents in E-Town on the way. When we combined households so I could take care of my parents, he got me an ID that would let me on MacDill AFB. I would gas up, get Dad's meds at the Pharma-Care, and shop at the commissary and BX. No membership club can beat those prices, especially in the BX where there was no excise or sales tax charged.
  11. With the Bolts not allowing fans to attend the games and Fox pulling it's channels from YouTube TV, the lone sport that I care to watch anymore is all but unavailable to me. When Fox decides to stream on its own, I will subscribe, but I am not switching to their desired provider AT&T just to watch.
  12. The Pfizer vaccine requires 2 doses, the second 3 weeks after the first, and it DOES NOT prevent getting the virus, it is supposed to just lessen its severity. I know 2 people have come down with symptoms and tested positive since receiving the 2nd dose. However, their symptoms are not severe.
  13. Just because the Bolts won the Stanley Cup and the Rays made it to the World Series, I would love to see the Bucs be the first team to play in a Super Bowl in their home stadium. It would be fantastic to see them win it, too. Tampa Bay would then match LA who won the World Series and the NBA Championship. Sorry , Big Guy, but I have not watched a single NFL game all season. Just for grins, before I responded to your post, I did watch the highlights of the regular season games against NOLA. The Saints are a bad matchup for the Bucs. Having said all that, since I'm not that excited abo
  14. Neither. BJ's Warehouse. Better selection. Lower prices. Lower member rates.
  15. I don't know how they are going to work this, but Dallas postponed their first 3 games due to a Covid outbreak last week. That includes the first of 2 games in Tampa, the Sunday game. Dallas will open their season against the Lightning on Tuesday night.
  16. For this season, anyway, each team will only play 8 games against each of their division rivals during the regular season. They will primarily play a 2 game series when a team visits their opponents location to reduce exposure. Chicago, who played in Tampa last night, will play the Bolts again on Friday night in Amalie Arena.
  17. Sponsored divisions? Why not? The Discover Central Division: Carolina Chicago Columbus Dallas Detroit Florida Nashville Tampa Bay The Mass/Mutual East: Boston Buffalo New Jersey NY Islanders NY Rangers Philadelphia Pittsburgh Washington The Honda West: Anaheim Arizona Colorado Los Angeles Minnesota San Jose St. Louis Vegas The Scotia North: Calgary Edmonton Montreal Ottawa Toronto Vancouver Wi
  18. At the 2021 home opener, this evening, the Lightning revealed the 2020 Stanley Cup banner but did not raise it. They announced that they would raise and hang the banner when the fans could come back to Amalie Arena to see it live. Oh yeah, the Bolts beat the Blackhawks 5-1.
  19. Mike Lupica needs to stick to sports books. I love the Jessie Stone series and this book may have killed it for me. It was worse than awful.
  20. I was at Disney Springs the other day with my son-in-law and grandson to meet my daughter-in-law and those grandkids for lunch and gift exchange. Overhead announcements warned of being escorted out if patrons were not wearing masks and not wearing masks properly. The staff was all over telling non-compliant people to mask up or leave. Orange County Sheriff's deputies were the security, not some security service. Makes sense given they have a precinct office right in Disney Springs. Lots and lots of Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, New York, and Ohio plates in the garages and school
  21. Also, those getting sick in Florida, anyway, are not getting as sick. Hospitalization for COVID in the major hospitals in Tampa Bay are averaging under 10% with COVID. Tampa Bay as a whole is running around a 7% positive to test ratio. Deaths to positive tests ratio has gone back under 2%.
  22. UM-Lowell is a contender in the college hockey world.
  23. The numbers from late June and the month of July eschew the ratios upward. Yesterday, Florida performed 108,000 + tests with 8,000 coming up positive. 7.4% rate. Unlike the numbers you and CWB reported, as of yesterday, the hospitalization numbers down here in the Tampa Bay area show a little over 9% of available beds (13,000+) in Tampa Bay are filled with Covid patients ( approx. 1,235) and only 12% ( approx. 148) of those patients are in ICUs and only 3% of those in ICU are on ventilators (approx. 5). The survival rate is currently over 99%. I do not know the infection number of staffs
  24. In my area, the testing rate has increased dramatically in the past few weeks, leading to dramatically more positive cases, yet the positive case to test ratio remains around 13% and the death to positive case ration has dropped below 2% again.
